Actually, UEF is a representation of out of control imperialism and oppression, the Aeon Illuminate is a representation of blind faith and fanaticism, and the Cybran are a representation of revenge and anger. However,on the other side of the coin, the UEF represents stalwartness and loyalty, the Aeon represent unity and once again faith, and the Cybran represent bravery and freedom. The factions of SupCom each represent a particular flaw, and strength, of humanity. Don't be so shallow.

I've played all through campaigns as well and out of all of them the Aeon are the closest to being the bad guys. As someone else summarized, the UEF just wants order and peace, the cybrans want to be free, and the Aeon wants to force all to follow The Way. They even flat out say as such. Now, maybe after a thousand fucking years the Princess decided "hey, this aint worth it, let's have peace" but that doesn't change their goal or role in the war. The UEF didn't start the war, the Aeon started it by declaring war on the EE, the Cybrans started it by going "we're special and deserve to be our own independent empire", all the EE did was respond to these threats to their stability which is perfectly valid. I mean look at the american civil war, states tried to secede and the rest of the union went "nope, not happening" and war began, that's what happened between the EE and the cybrans. Had the cybrans and aeon not forced their hand the EE, and then the UEF, wouldn't have been forced to take such drastic measures. You can argue that the UEF or Cybrans are better depending on how you look at it, but no matter how you look at it the Aeon are bad guys. The princess may have come around (again, it only took her a thousand fucking years) but the aeon as a whole has the sole motivation of forcing their dogma down the throats of everyone else. You can't judge a nation by it's few actions at the end of the war, you judge a nation based off it's actions from start to finish and from start to finish the aeon are the aggressors and the bad guys.

"the UEF just wants order and peace," and slaves, nice cheap labour due to the forced loyalty program, you kindof forgot to mention that. But hey, that´s a mistake that can happen quickly if you don´t see them as people.
@War45010 жыл бұрын
DeHerg Did you not watch the very video you commented on? The EE didn't have slaves, they never wanted slaves. The Symbionts came in and went "we're special, we want independence" and it was only then that the EE used the forced loyalty to program. It's no different than any other faction trying to secede from their country. When the southern USA tried to secede the north kicked their ass in a war and forced them to stay. That sort of thing happens all throughout history. That's not slavery, that's maintaining stability as it would fuck up your country to have a large segment of it just up and leave. Had the symbionts been content living under the EE instead of thinking themselves too good for that, the EE never woulda used the forced loyalty program. So no, the symbionts are still to blame for it.
@DeHerg10 жыл бұрын
War450 -the cybrans founded their OWN colony and just asked to be left alone(procyon) -earth reacted by sending military forces and slaughtered them -the cybrans dared to resist that massacre and earth activated the forced loyalty program they had developed even before those events oh sure enslavement in this case is so justified
@War45010 жыл бұрын
DeHerg Just because you go somewhere else doesn't mean you're somehow magically your own independent country. The british came to the new world, yet britain still imposed their authority on them as the british, even in the new world, still belonged to britain. The cybrans tried to rebel, tried to secede, the EE tried to stop them. That has happened thousands of time throughout human history. That isn't enslavement, that's keeping rebels from fucking off with your stuff. Until the cybrans tried to secede from the EE there wasn't even a hint that the EE mistreated them. So like it or not, the cybrans started it by thinking themselves special snowflakes.

+War450 yeah uef are good commiting mass genocide when the aeon- the evil ones made peace with all three factions. in your own mind you want the uef to be the good guys otherwise you are completely oblivious to the whole story. oh and the uef corrupted and enslaved another factions people. completely different to what the aeon do. because its obvious that the uef enslaved the cybrans, it was in this video. for the aeon you have no proof that there way of changing people is enslaved or brainwashing or just showing the actual truth or not.
@shaftoe1959 жыл бұрын
UEF are not Nazis. They're traditional humans before face of destruction and foul freedom. They must fight, because the UEF is the only faction who can bring humanity to a bright future, BUT... only if they recognize Aeon and Cybran sovereignity. As they did in FA.
@Nok_Sul7 жыл бұрын
A bit late I know, but I feel inclined to point out the UEF committed near omnicide and only bothered recognising the other factions when they realised they couldn't win without them. If they actually cared, then they would have not bothered the Cybrans and just let them get on with their lives, rather than starting a war to enslave them all. Comparing them to Nazis in their obsession that humanity must follow their ideals, and resorting to genocide when they can't get their way is pretty accurate.
@PyroMonster946 жыл бұрын
The UEF was resorting to genocide because they were loosing the war and that was their only chance. The Aeon on the otherhand cleansed entire colonies, full of civilians, even tho their religion "The Way" was all about understanding, empathy etc. it is true that the princess was against that, but still it was the Aeon commanders who followed their leader, despite what their religion stands for. The UEF didnt want to enslave all the Cybrans. They created symbionts from humans, who were used as super computers, but because of the loyalty program, they were basically enslaved in their own bodies, so they were aware of their surrounding but the computer part of their brain controlled their bodies. Now the cybrans wanted to free these symbionts and once they were freed they basically became cybran. But this doesnt mean that the UEF tried to enslave the cybran by capturing them. They basically exploited their own ppl by forcing them to become symbionts (for e.g it was a punishment for serious crimes, but ppl volunteered to not knowing that they would be enslaved). All the sides had good people end evil ones, and many of the good ones would have liked to end the war peacefully, but it was something that just couldnt happen. 1000 years of constant war is unimaginable, all the sides have been scared so deeply that they could never forgive each other. Only when the seraphim attacked would they work together, but even then, only until they defeated them.

WH40k's conflicts have been going on for at least 15000 years, with billions of lives lost every day, across millions of contested worlds. Billions of human colonies churn out uncountable tons of war material for a military juggernaut of such size and might that it has never been fully recorded, for an empire so unimaginably vast that its true size can never be comprehended by a single human. And the current Imperial military forces are but a mere shadow of the Imperial Army during the Great Crusade...

geeze.. now that I think about it the UEF just committed mass genocid.. I usually play as the UEF but the faction that seems to be less evil than the others is the illuminate which makes me kind of sick to think that I would side with a bunch of cultists. Their story mode was just more flushed and dremaitc than the the other 2 and in the end they don't destroy planets or destroy the gateways saving more lives than the other 2 factions. honestly though I kind of wouldn't think there would a gross amount of casualties in the war considering one man/woman is a single army. you know what would be good? Not being fucking blown to pieces by a nuclear explosion when my mech is damaged. I'm sure most the deaths were because of that other it was just machines being destroyed over and over again so in the end I think the cybran's would have taken the most hits considering they're part synthetic.
@The_Crimson_Fucker10 жыл бұрын
I don't know...I've actually not played the campaigns, but from the premise alone, I must conclude that the only "evil" faction are the Aeon Illuminate, I mean, just think about it: Cybran: We want freedom. UEF: We want order. Aeon: We want to force our religion on everybody. Granted, everyone goes WAY too far with this. They make victory worthless.
@UbinTimor10 жыл бұрын
Criomorph actually the Aeon Illuminate isn't like that at all- at least not the side loyal to the princes, I've played through all 3 campaigns and in most cases you try to make peace with whoever you fight with but they just blow you off so you're forced to eliminate them. there are also divides between the illuminate with one side devoted to the princes (the side that wants nothing but peace between the 3 factions) and the side devoted to Marxan (a dictator who wants the illuminate to crush the other factions no matter what the cost in order to spread "the way"). the UEF is pretty much the evil faction, they want to attain order through universal genocide (you saw in the cinematic that they are using black son to destroy worlds massacring billions upon trillions of lives in the name of order which is the equivalent to the death star being used by the empire in star wars). the cybran nation wants freedom, yes but the use black sun to cut off the gates leaving thousands of colonies in the dark for 4 years these colonies may depend on the gates for supplies and technologies they simply can't produce on their own in which case they would wither away. this option also kills billions perhaps trillions of lives in the name of freedom. the princes uses black sun in order to convince the other factions to stop the war and destroy the WMD. she tells the cybrans that they are free to do as they please and will not be persued by the illuminate anymore. she convinces the UEF to listen to reason and end the war with peace. in the end there is no bloodshed when the princes uses black sun. The cybrans are free and UEF no longer has to fight, she doesn't force them into the way she creates peace without bloodshed. I don't like religion but even I can see the "religious fanatics" ultimately end the war peacefully without any innocence being harmed.

UbinTimor Interesting. It does seem, though, that the Aeon story was focused on the most.
@UbinTimor10 жыл бұрын
Criomorph it shows that they probably spent the most time on the Aeon in terms of story, and missions. the recurring problem of "if marxan takes over and dethrones the princes then the war will never end" is constant through the campaign even going as far as having to attack other aeon soldiers who have sided with marxan. the thing is they don't show these things in the other story modes. if you're playing as the UEF you have no idea what's going on in the Aeon same as if you're playing as the cybrans. I think if the UEF or the Cybrans knew about the power struggle they would have helped the princes or at least DR. Brackman would have helped in order to save his children.

Apparently Brackman "invented" it after getting Serraphim technology. Also, Dostia didn't die in the UEF ending. The only major character to die in the UEF ending was Marxon ("Forgive me, Princess") and true to form he didn't show up in Forged Alliance. But I get your point and think your arguments are valid.

True, i also take back what i said two days ago. According to the timeline in the beginning of FA: "QAI cripples the quantum gate network" which would mean that the cybran didn't destroy it. Oh, that could work, but GPG officially stated that the Serraphim arrived almost immediately after the Black Sun was fired. And apparently they had been amassing a fleet of that size since the Serraphim was wiped out on their home planet centuries before, they were just waiting for the Black Sun to rip open a rift in time-space between the dimensions (to achieve that goal, they had QAI help design the Black Sun). Also, I forgot to mention that GPG compromised a little on the ending.

So you're saying the canon ending is the one where the core Cybran worlds are annhilated effectively reducing the faction to tatters. The Aeon to are obliterated too, leaving little to no resistance for the UEF to regain control over the galaxy. It has already been stated by the developers that FA starts technically at the end of the infinite War but none of the factions have enacted their plans for victory, i.e. no peace, present quantum gate system, and present aeon and cybran core worlds.

The Cybran ending is not valid because they destroyed all the quantum gates and yet in Forged Alliance we're still using Quantum Gates to travel across the universe. In any case, GPG stated that they followed the UEF ending.

Ive heard this all before, but yet, there it is. A UEF ending where they win. Its in the game man and is very possible. No matter what they did to the next game. Keeping the story complete and correct to the game that came before isnt the main goal of a gaming company, making money is.

So, which ending is canon? It seems from SupCom: Forged Alliance that the UEF ending is canon, but I'm not sure. Story-wise, I don't know which faction I support. Gameplay-wise, I used to play UEF because my brother did, or Aeon when I was against him. I am getting into Cybran though, seems too hard to remember the names of all the Seraphim stuff. Thoughts?

No. In the Forged Alliance storyline they mentioned Aeon home world, and in UEF ending Black Sun blowed it up (along with the 2/3 Cybran planets). So I guess canon is Aeon ending. That actualy explains, how Princess was able to close Seraphim breach in FA, since she became some sort of Doctor Manhattan in the Aeon ending.
@Randoman59010 жыл бұрын
Right. It also explains why Hall says Black Sun is destroyed in FA. Perhaps the canon is something not shown in the original game at all? I'm not familiar with what happens in each ending (personally I only played FA, not the original).

In the UEF ending Black Sun destroys lot of Cybran planets, along with the Aeon homeworld. In the Cybran ending, Cybrans use Black Sun to spread Liberation Matrix across the galaxy, and destroy all Quantum Gates for five years. In the Aeon ending the Princess sacrifices herself to destroy Black Sun, tells, that there will be peace, and Aeon will not be hunting Cybran and Symbiots anymore, and became some sort of high form of life (or Doctor Manhattan).

Wait. If in the Aeon ending Princess Burke dies, then that means that can't be canon. Quantum Gates gone for five years can't be right either, and Black Sun is destroyed in FA, so it can't have been used by the UEF in canon. I reckon the true canon isn't any of these, but something completely different. It had to involve Black Sun being destroyed though, but it can't be the Aeon ending in SC because Burke is alive.
@OverLorD76810 жыл бұрын
Well, she doesn't dies in the Aeon ending, she just became something different. And also disapear, leaving the Aeon commander to rull all thing up. That also fits the FA canon, as she was missing until mission 2 or 3 - can't remember which,

The UEF one is the official one, why? The aftermath appears only in the UEF campaign.

@markreal15 That makes no sense. That's like saying what is darkness if there is no light? Initially it sounds profound, but on further inspection it's BS

well A sign of s mature discussion is the lack of "flaming" and it is nice to have a decent convo ounce in a wile with people of a higher maturity then most lol
@opalen90316 жыл бұрын
Hmm, that actually sounds more reasonable, but it is stated that the rift opened after Black Sun was fired. Someone must have fired it, and I think that the UEF ending is more likely.
@BluEclipse9411 жыл бұрын
Why not? Brackman and princess are alive, although they lost their core worlds. Every ending has posibilty to be continued on Forged Alliance.

@ 2:21 I've yet to see a decent T3 Transport capable of holding that many units, even in FA...
@Synapse2716 жыл бұрын
None of the endings are entirely compatible FA. UEF: Several worlds are destroyed, severly crippling the Aeon and Cybran (but none of those worlds are visited in FA) Cybran: They destroy the network and unless the seraphim did something about that, space travel would be impossible, thus is FA. Aeon: the princess uses black sun to enter the quantum realm, but in FA she is clearly alive and in hidning. I hate to say it (i'm a Cybran player) but i find the UEF ending most propable.

i dont understand,the narrator says that quantum gateaways allowed people to travel deep into space. so there must be an exit.how the hell did they build an quantum gateway exit a billion light years away from the entrance?

I have a 3.5 year old machine AMD single core 2GHZ 2 GB ram ATI radeon x850GT and it runs fine. You may want to check your drivers and or virus program. This is a really good game. You may also want to turn down the details slightly.

@stb6688 Sorry, but I see that as an offense. There is nothing wrong with comparing the UEF with the USA.
