This is my very last problem to fill up my pie chart in Aleks so this is the last video I will be watching, you have been the greatest at helping me get through chemistry and I couldn't have done this class without your videos. Thank you so so so much for getting me all the way through all the chemistry class, I think I have watched all your videos numerous times. You are absolutely the best and a lifesaver!! ❤

Hi Roxi! I was wondering, since in this problem it says it has increased by 50% and we use 1.0 L and 1.5L, what about if the problem says it has decrease by 30%, what would be the V1 and V2?
@RoxiHulet
@RoxiHulet 2 жыл бұрын
You can always use 1 for V1. 30% of 1 is 0.3, so a 30% decrease is 1 - 0.3, which would give you 0.7 for V2.

why was v2 for the 2L example 3 ? if you were increasing by 50% wouldnt it be 2.5

Great question! 50% of 2 is 1, and 2+1 = 3.

Hi Roxi, in ALEKS the explanation part of this question tells me to reverse the equation at the end when you solve for kPa. Why is that and is there something you're doing in the video in place of that? Just trying to follow along with this but I keep getting it wrong.

I don’t know… does it give you an example of what the “reversed” equation is supposed to look like? Also, have you tried just ignoring that not-helpful explanation (haha) and solving using this method?

I am sorry where did the 1.5 L come from
@RoxiHulet
@RoxiHulet 2 жыл бұрын
The problem says the volume increases by 50%, which is 0.5 L. The new volume is 1 L + 0.5 L = 1.5 L

@@RoxiHulet Ty so much for the quick response that make sense and what about if it about pressure atm how would I convert it using percentages sorry to bother you about this but Alek questions about combined gas law was about atm and percentage
@RoxiHulet
@RoxiHulet 2 жыл бұрын
@@angelbrown3825 same thing… just make your initial pressure “1 atm” and then calculate your final pressure based on whatever the problem tells you about the change.
