There is no bboy at all that is like Roxrite or has Roxrite style. I have mad respect and love for Roxrite. He's 30 and he's not gonna let his age affect what he loves to do. He's not like any other bboy. He doesn't always do footwork and he's not a powerhead. His style is so unique that no other bboy has. He's a true bboy. Being different makes you stand out. Being creative is what everybody in general should do. Think outside the box, break the rules , reach for the sky. Roxrite , mad bboy

I'll take perfectly executed, creative footwork and freezes over some sloppy-ass flips any day. Haters think bigger is always better. They just don't know what a bboy is. You don't have to be upside down to prove you know how to get down.

Okay so i saw bboy roxrite for the first time today and i watch the bc one and i think he hella deserved his spot cause the footwork is how a bboy shows his creativity and its almost like his identity and the power moves an dfreezes show how much work hes put forth into bboying but thats just my opinion

I'm a powerhead but I love watching Roxrite. Guy is amazingly clean, his name is fucking dope and you know bboying then you also know he fucking deserves that name. I highly doubt many if any non-bboys will even get through this video. Even fewer would even know that Roxrite started out in power and tricks when he entered his first comp and lost. What he does now is what every bboy should do... Learn all that you can do, memorize it all and do it as best as you can. Respect.

Respect to Roxrite. The man masters his arsenals while the opponent throw big moves and crash and people are tripping? If it was a REAL fight, whoever is more calm, strategic, and consistent has the upper hand. The other guy would swing heavy blows but inconsistently fall(crashing that is), being more vulnerable. People should judge a battle as if it is a BATTLE and not a SHOW.

@MrKarlbaby Yo! Thats your view, Cool! But First off I never said not once that you should not do power moves, not push yourself, not do blow ups. Tell me where I said that, Second I was defending me myself and what I do and why I do it. If a lot of cats feel the same way then thats why they relate. Last but not least I never told any one to just do foundation. So pay attention to what was said before you attack the topic being covered. Peace Rox

to appreciate it more than the casual viewer, you kinda have to be a bboy...you can't even begin to understand someone else in their shoes, unless you actually live it yourself..that being said, the hate for people that are non-bboys, because it's non-bboys that make disrespectful comments like"oh, idk why roxrite won that" simply because they dont understand what it is we really do.

Roxrite has such a deep knowledge of the foundations of b-boying that he doesn't need to break out the most "aesthetically" pleasing set to win. He is aware that b-boying is all about sticking to YOUR style of b-boying and approaching the foundations differently according to how you want to present it and to how you want to reflect the music. I think once the non-bboy community begins to understand this, then they wouldn't always be dick-riding flashy power moves and flips.

Yea roxrite is my main inspiration as a bboy although at the same time hes not saying its just footwork.. but its the mixture of every element of bboying and your own signature... roxrite has power moves, he beat lil g and he had a headspin in his set... i think neguins battle was absolutely beast i thought neguin won at first but looking back at it... roxrite has the battle... he freezes in neguins face... chases him using footwork had the power moves and slick footwork... his flow is his power

yo who ever wrote those comments about roxrite were probably lil 13 or 14 year old chicks.. and i bet they probably think breaking came from capoeira... like those are the type of people who refer to popping as the "pop and lock" and i bet if you even tried to illustrate the difference and that they two separate styles, they probably couldn't tell the difference. i bet if there was a show called So You Can't Think and Cant Dance they would be on it

I think the point of this video is not to belittle explosive bboys who play the blow-up game. I think we should respect/appreciate how Roxrite breaks as well as how Neguin or Lil G breaks. Just because Roxrite does not play the power/blow-up game that Lil G does, does not mean that he instantly loses to Lil G. And vice versa, just because Lil G doesn't play the footwork/technicality game Roxrite plays, doesn't mean he instantly loses to Roxrite.

Footwork, Tops, Funky Freezes, Flow... that's the soul of this dance. Thank God there are enough BBoys and BGirls around the world that get it and preserve it. @TheBboya What's evolution without the foundations? If you say Roxrite doesn't have skill or originality, obviously you're too ignorant and close-minded. "Our Mentality" is old? On the contrary, it's all about the classics. This "evolution" you talk about is bringing us closer to gymnasts and circus performers. THIS IS A DANCE, AN ART, not a form of "entertainment" for others. Dance to express, not to impress. This is what bboying is, if you don't like it, don't call yourself a bboy.

Bboying is more then power and showing off. The people who questioned his win against Neguin and Lil G shouldn't even have a right to talk! If you're not a bboy then why even bother criticize how the battle was judged? You don't know the concept of what BBOY is so don't question it. And if you do know what BBoying is and you still question, then maybe you should re think what BBOYing is.

Thanks to Strifetv for doing this interview and posting it. I think Strifetv has provided a lot of the most meaningful bboy content on the internet. @hattoom Watch the battle again. Ppl get fooled by neguin's flashy moves. Neguin has wack foundation, he knows the basics but cant adapt them to his own style very well, which u can see as he didnt start his sets as strong as roxrite nor did he finish them strong. Basically, he completely won by audition, but if u a bboy u know that roxrite deserved this one

can't master them new-school and power moves if you don't start with the basics. They are both clean when executing the moves (e.g. footworks and freezes) and so perfection is always shown.

With the issue about crashing, I don't think we lose points because sometimes you crash, but you make the sickest recovery and it looks like maybe you meant to do it, so the crash could be seen as a transition in itself. Another case could be doing things that straight up look like crashes to a lot of people like a lot of Ray's stuff from Team Shmetta.

@gamefreak789 I agree completely my friend. People forget that we are not gymnasts or acrobats we are DANCERS and dancers first. That's why I dont understand when people get mad when I say that bboys like pocket are good but need to learn more foundation. Power moves alone will not get you there. You need to DANCE and make art not just do tricks.

Basically, Hollywood destroyed "BBoying." Bboying was an art & lifestyle, and commercial enterprises turn it into a gymnastic freak show. Roxrite is one of those "complete" bboys that present art in the form of dance. Dynamics wows the crowd. Execution & presentation wins battles.

There's nothing wrong with how much power you do. Roxrite won because the judges said so, and I definitely think he deserved to win. If Lil G won, that would be cool, too. They are both awesome and the amount of power they did had nothing to do with the results of the battle.

Good account of peoples common misconceptions. Why would the different levels and elements be in the dance if the intention wasn't to master all of them? All round bboy, all round winner.
