I've been seeing so many people buy lost airline suitcases and filming a video on what they managed to find inside! I thought i'd have my own go at this and decided to purchase lost / unclaimed luggage from an auction! Let's see what we can find inside...

In the US they have to contact the owner and then five them 90 days to claim the luggage before it's available for sale.

There is a guy in youtube that used gps tracking on his package that got lost and this is literally the case. Companies know it is cheaper if they just compensate you and don't actually bother doing any real searching despite what they state they do.

I feel bad for all owners of lost baggages. I hope this does not happen to me when I travel. Perhaps the airlines don't bother anymore because they can just sell it. Tip I learned from my mom, put identification and your contact no. inside the luggage and pray that the new owner will have a guilty conscience. 😐

Caroline was going to a wedding, probably a bridesmaid.That's why she had: -white dress: day at the beach before the wedding -formal black skirt+white top ensamble (rehearsal dinner) -black dress: day of the wedding -denim ensemble (with the white top) lunch next day The bag was new, slightly formal than she normally uses, that's why it had the tags. The toy was to one of the kids in wedding (maybe even a nephew) to keep him entertained.

Reselling someone's luggage seems so sad... I would feel so guilty for going through it and keeping it even if I paid for it. They didn't consent to this. Also, Caroline's story: She's 22 years old woman from the UK - She just went through a break up and wanted to get away from her life with some friends. So, she booked a trip to France. While in France, she visited some museums and parties. While at a party, she bumped into a toy maker and they hit it off. He gifted her the joker doll - she thought it was strange but took it anyways to give her to nephew. On the way back to the UK, her luggage got lost and was devastated. She will never get to wear her French fake clothes again! Now, she's still single, sad, and without her luggage.

Caroline is from the uk, studying abroad in Italy. She is a fashionable young one, hence the quirky two piece set (good for an instagram post in some cute Italian scenery) she came back for a last visit to Italy to pick up the last pieces she left behind including that joker doll that the guy she went on a few dates with thought was a fun quirky gift (they have watched The joker movie together) she actually hates the doll but can't separate from it because it's a souvenir of good times abroad and she thinks she can always recycle it as a Christmas gift if she gets bored of it. She packs all last bits and while she strolls around the city on the way to the flight that will take her back home she can't resist a last purchase (the suede handbag)

It is not "common"... for us to have luggage stores in the US however the specific one you showed in alabama, is a very specific store that's been around a bit ... I would like to think that Caroline treated herself to a quiet sunny vacation for a weekend 🧳 and that she met a man who she spent every minute with talking about their dreams & aspirations. So they should hold on to lost and unclaimed luggage forever? There are millions of lost items at airports. The airlines do everything in their power to find the owners first and if not they pay you for luggage they lost. We have a whole tv shows about these auctions, there are even unclaimed cars being auctioned off. Though someone forgetting to pick up their cars is a little strange. The money goes to charities and a lot of the items get donated to different foundations. A lot of you people would really be upset if you watched an episode of Storage Wars. Where they auction off entire storage units.

I usually travel to my dad with a huge highly recognizable pink luggage to fit all my makeup and clothes in. If somebody bought it right now as a lost luggage they'd be surprised. I've got some sneakers in, flip flops, a pair of heels a huge and heavy bag of makeup (all liquid stuff) a bunch of clothes plus some that I made myself (like some flowy pants and a skort I finished in time before I left). We did actually loose a luggage once but we were lucky enough to get it back.

This ting with reselling luggage, is so sad to me. When I was at a vacation in summer, my luggage didn’t come and I was so sad because I had a teddy with me that was my dads and is 40 years old, so if I lost that I don’t think I would be able to live with that and if some people then found it and starting digging their hands in things that are so much worth for me, then i think I would be kinda sad. Thankfully I got the luggage a day after, but I was so scared..:(
