Rachel, using my phone please excuse the typos. I'm watching your antique journal playlist, and you just mentioned about the grime on the paper. I just saw a demonstration of how to clean old documents, especially if you wanted to restore the original cover. You get a white artist eraser. It has to be white, but not the gummy ones. You have to use a garlic grater. The lemon ones aren't fine enough. And you need several little piles. You put those in a small clump across the document about 1 to 2 inches apart, and then very gently begin to roll the shreds in a circular pattern and you will soon begin to see the orig finish. It's like magic. I'd practice on something that's not 400 yrs old .. jk ... but it really works. You could try on not really vintage images to remove the paper to put it in the freezer. Seriously, it freezes the glue and helps it peel off. I worked on a lawsuit where priceless photos were mishandled and that's what the restorer did at the Smithsonian lab in DC. I can't remember where I put my glasses but can remember that from 1982. Turns out, glasses on my nose. Hope you girls are having a blast in the land down under.

Oh Rachel you are a delight. I really love that you give us permission to not have to be perfect, but to always love and put our hearts into our projects, which I do. May take a bit longer, but well worth it. Thank you and Sarah for making this available to us, and being so natural and authentic. Always my pleasure to spend time with you. You have family all around the world that really value and appreciate you and your special creative flair. Your trip would be so much to process, so be kind to yourself as you get that mojo spark back again… happy creating😊

I have throughly enjoyed watching you make your huswif aka sewing roll. I have made needle books but I certainly plan to make a sewing roll. I know the ladies did a lot of hand stitch but they also had treadle sewing machines. My mom had her grandmother’s old treadle machine & made most of our clothes on it. I actually learn to sew on it when I was about 8 years old. We finally got an electric sewing machine when I was about 12 years old.
