Roy Ayers is one of the coolest guys i know, his music was and still is the soundtrack of my life even at the age of 56. He is such a nice and cool guy in person, my profile pic is of him and i hanging out here in KC the same day that Whitney Houston died, i found out about that from him because he announced it during his concert. I will be totally heartbroken when he passes.

Do you know how unusual it is for an artist to be able to make great dance tracks as well as quality ballads? The ones that do normally have someone else writing the lyrics and composing the music
Was turned on to him in 1976 and am still loving him. And I'm a white girl! Love me some Roy

It's easy to say Roy is underrated. I don't believe that at all. Mr. Ayers is worshiped by not only the hip hop, and house music communities. He is also credited with being the Godfather of both acid jazz and neo-soul. I can't think of anyone past or present with that kind of juice in music...and did I mention that Roy is the coolest dude walking on the planet.
