Roy jones is the goat. Funny story. in the 90's in Pensacola when i was a kid, a new blockbuster was opening and Roy Jones was doing autographs. My parents were napping on the couch and I woke them up and asked if I could go get Roy Jones autograph which they half asleep said yes. Later found out they didnt think I was serious, so they were super supprised when I walked in with signed pictures, hats and t shirst after riding my bike with friends up to the new block buster. Roy always was around helping out in Pensacola. Dudes legit.

I'm not convinced that Jake is going to get stronger as the fight goes on like Roy says. Jake's carrying 45 pounds more than he did when he fought Tommy Fury. This is obviously not his natural fighting weight, whereas Mike is at exactly the natural weight he's fought at his entire life. Add the fact that Mike doesn't hesitate, knows how to set up his combos, how to come in, to pressure, cut the ring off, etc. Jake gassed out and became desperate with Tommy Fury pretty early and he was in better shape and faster. His only answer was the big, wild overhead right and hugging.
@LK-bz9sk8 сағат бұрын
You make good points and especially with Mike making the ring smaller so Paul cant do the endurance thing on him
@tw35438 сағат бұрын
Yeah I agree too. jake has consistently shown signs of fatigue in a lot of his fights against smaller guys, mike's size and mass can hold him in good stead pressuring foward with short naturally heavy punches, he doesn't have expend a lot of energy on heavy shots, jake on the other hand has to load up and wing power shots which with fatigue you and add a strong pressure fight coming after you so yeah I can see mike breaking him down.
@sergiupobereznic8 сағат бұрын
@@LK-bz9sk Agreed. Also, there's very little to prepare Jake for Mike's fighting style. Even though Mike might be older, it's still a style that most people emulate but they don't naturally embody. And the people Jake fought so far have not been anywhere as aggressive as Mike. Every punch he commits to has bad intent. I think he might even catch Jake with a body shot if Jake hugs him too much.
@palmer_xxx8 сағат бұрын
and you guys dont think mike at nearly 60 years old is not going to gas? he will be the first one to gas. and jake even at his worst, will pressure mike when he sees him fatigue.
@pdmerritt6 сағат бұрын
@@LK-bz9sk it goes both ways...Jake may be carrying the extra weight but Tyson is old and even with his conditioning there is a wall you're going to hit because of the age. If Jake can stretch the fight out past 3 rounds Mike may be in trouble. Also, don't think Mike doesn't know this so he may come out and expend more energy than he should trying to close out the match within those first three rounds.

LOVE what he said about his style. Emotions are a huge part of Mike's still and what makes him the greatest. If he tried to change that then he wouldn't be Mike.

Me and friends chipped in to order PPVs for Tyson’s fights and also Roy’s fights back in the days, good times.

Met Roy several times at the gas station in Gulf Breeze, across the bay from his hometown. Down to earth guy and always very nice.

Best breakdown. Hyped Mike up, but was still honest about the age being concerning. I don’t think the fight should be happening. However, Him suggesting a body shot could hurt Jake makes a lot of sense. Probably Tyson’s best chance.

This dumb fight will be staged. I refuse to support staged fights. After Tyson...Jake will probably fight Tiger Woods or Scotti Pippen
