My favorite kind of reaction - no interruption, listening to the song all the way through, saying more with body language and facial expression than words could do. That's how it should be done, thank you! 👍

Roy Orbison was one of the best singers to ever live. He could really put on a show just standing there onstage

I think I mentioned in an earlier reaction that I got to meet and talked with Roy Orbison for over a half hour when my brother produced a concert by him. What a wonderful human being. I wouldn't say he was shy, he just didn't have a big ego and was very soft spoken and a caring person. This song is my top 5 of favorites by him. I just can't pick a number one, too many great ones! Great reaction Dani. My suggestion for another one to do would be "It's Over" ❤

Like Elvis and other famous early rockers, Roy is from the Sam Phillips/Sun Records stable. His hit, Pretty Woman, was a #1 hit in 1964 and he and the song had a resurgence when the movie came out in 1990.

Love this song, you have to listen to KD Lang singing this song. She inherited the song after Roy's passing, her performance at the Roy Orbison Tribute concert in February 1990 was phenomenal, she received a 4 minute standing ovation. Roy's window Barbara asked KD to perform the song when he was inducted into the songwriters Hall of Fame in 1989.

Orbisons home in Nashville burned down in a fire and Johnny Cash later rebuilt it. Orbison and Elvis had similar upper registers, i think Elvis picked up that style after the Army days. Great clip of Roy on the Midnight Special doing Pretty Woman circa 1975.

Roy was called “The Big O” and “The Caruso Of Rock” Yes , it’s true-Elvis once said that he “is simply, the best singer in the world “ but Elvis had praised many performers. I remember shortly after Elvis passed Roy was interviewed about their friendship. In the interview Roy talked about a ring that Elvis had given to him saying “I don’t wear it much because I can’t afford the insurance.” 😊

Elvis held Roy Orbison in very high regard, publicly stating that Roy had ' most perfect voice' and taking the stage after an Orbison performance, said to the audience '’he’s simply the greatest singer in the world' during one of his Dec. 1976 Vegas concerts.

Look up the Black and White Night with Orbison and friends and friends like Bruce Springsteen and two former members of Elvis's band from the 70's, the drummer and lead guitar. Also Crying was Orbison's favorite. Listen to Unchained Melody from Roy.

Hi Dani, I like your Elvis and Roy Orbison reactions. Have you heard of Sha Na Na? They had a TV show in the 70’s and performed 50’s and 60’s rock n roll and doo wop songs. They were really good. I hope you check them out.

Yes, I LOVE Don McLean‘s version of Crying💙 It’s a slowed down version that Roy Orbison actually adopted later on because he liked it. Here’s a live version of Don McLean performing Crying at the Dominion Theatre, London 1980 kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpuwf4Klqq6VZs0
