I loved Roy as a kid, when I was seven years old I wrote him a letter and asked him to adopt me. He sent me a picture of himself. I’m 80 now and I still love Roy Rogers.❤

Me also. I'm 79 and wish we could turn our history back to Roy's days. It's a mess now in 2022. Good wholesome upbringing values in every Roy Rogers show. Helped immensely to raise children with good morals and patriotism back then. RIP Leonard Slye ( Roy Rogers) 🎶⚘🙏⚘🎶

My Grandfather worked in the music department at Republic Studios and was involved in almost all of the Roy Rogers movies. I was lucky enough to meet Roy and Dale at the studio Christmas parties. What absolutely wonderful people. I miss them and wish more people today had their character.

At 43:06 when Roy starts to say “The Cowboys Prayer “, Trigger’s eyes slightly close almost as if he is praying too. Trigger and Roy where partners, and felt each others vibe. A man and his horse, truly magical.

I miss the good ole days of CLEAN, wholesome entertainment...like Roy and Dale. I'm 66 now, and the younger generation will never know these good times. I had a full cowgirl outfit...complete with the hat, boots, holster and "six-shooters." I even wore it to school in first grade...it was "all the rage."(lol) Roy Rogers had the most handsome face...his whole face SMILED.

Mother & Daddy took me to the coliseum in Indy to see him; told me they were taking me out to dinner, which we never did do, so I believed it, There we were in this huge place with an area far below where horses and riders soon greeted us~~ and the king of the cowboys was there. No TV yet, but I was in love. I even had Roy Rogers paper dolls. I got to shake hands with him~~he circled the entire place and shook every hand he could reach. A forever memory.

Roy Rogers was a hero in a time of innocence when kids looked up to an adult...either their father, brother or uncle...or if they didn't have one of those, perhaps a sports figure. Roy was the same person off screen as on...You didn't hear any stories of scandals or misdeeds after he died. The night he showed up at the Country Music Awards to honor Randy Travis, the audience gave him a rousing welcome. These were not older senior citizens but young women who no doubt dreamed of marrying Roy Rogers and riding off into the sunset on the back of Trigger.

Slight correction. It was the Victor Valley and not the Antelope Valley where the Museum was. Roy and Dale lived in Apple Valley, adjacent to Victorville. They had two houses in Apple Valley, a couple miles down the street from my house. I had the pleasure and honor to meet Roy and Dale at a church event and occasionally would see them at the local cafe and grocery store. Wonderful people.

I know the fancy cowboy outfits worn by Roy, Gene, Tom Mix & Clayton Moore are not realistic from the old West but they were attractive, sleek . They were designed by Eastern European Jewry tailors who immigrated to America; they are Nathan Turk, Nudie Cohn & Rodeo Ben. I as a 5 yr. old wanted a copy of Roy's t.v. outfit for myself but of course in was not sold at Macy , etc. .

Oh how the world needs more people like that.

An innocent time, admittedly naive and sugar coated. But, I am not sure how losing those "American morality plays" has helped forge a better society. It seems to me, in 2021 there is more hatred, more bias and more despondency than there could be if we had some of that hopeful sugar coating back.

The simple plan of Salvation. 1. Admit that you are a sinner and need to be saved. (No one is good enough to go to Heaven on his own merit. No matter how much good we do, we still fall short.) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; - Romans 3:23 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. - Ephesians 2:8‭-‬9 KJV 2. Realize the penalty for sin, repent and be willing to turn from your sins that can be possible to stop doing by working on that one day at a time, Jesus knows that some sins are impossible to quit doing, like, judging one another. (Just as there are wages for good, there is punishment for sin. The penalty for our sin is eternal punishment in a place called Hell.) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. - Romans 6:23 KJV And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: - Hebrews 9:27 KJV But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. - Revelation 21:8 KJV 3. Believe that Christ died for you on the cross of Calvary. (Christ great love for us was shown when He died on the cross to pay our sin.) For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:6‭-‬8 KJV Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. - John 14:6 KJV For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: - 1 Corinthians 15:3‭-‬4 KJV Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. - 1 Peter 2:24 KJV For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: - 1 Peter 3:18 KJV 4. Receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour into your heart and life through prayer. (Everlasting life is a gift purchased by the blood of Jesus and offered freely to those who call upon Him by faith.) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. - John 5:24 KJV For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. - Romans 10:13 KJV -1 CORINTHIANS 15. 1-4 -1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2. by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4. and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Prayer of Salvation: “Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I need you. I believe that you died on the cross for me. Forgive me of my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life to you. I receive you as my Saviour, come into my life and save me. Thank you for what you did on the cross for me. "Amen.”

Roy never shot to kill -- only shot the guns out of the bad guy's hands. Of course, it never occurred to us that would pretty well blow off the guy's hand. But underneath it all, even the littlest kids understood that it was all make-believe and the same bad guys would show up again in the next movie with their hands fully restored.

You forget the bad buys shoot first! Law comes when they hear of the crimes. God says a life for a life to keep the bad guys from killing more people. The majority of people released from prison commit crimes again, including the murder of the innocent ones. Jesus Christ, the thrill of hope, for a sick and weary world-Romans 10:9-10 from the Bible: “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.” To learn of God’s personal love for you, please click here: vallee7.wordpress.com/category/paradise/
