Some minor nitpicks: - didn't do all side B (most notably, his high 3rd slash doesn't meteor) - his neutral B has 3 voices in Smash 4: no, mid, full charge - in Melee, everyone had 2 ledge getup attacks (pre and post 100%) - maybe I missed it, but I didn't see ftilt and running attack - somewhat misleading, but voices for his attacks are randomized, so it'd be more appropriate to match the voices.

Soultrigger The last victory animation could also use the same quote in Melee that he did in Smash 4, which is "boku wa makenai". Roy had 4 victory quotes in Melee: - Mamoru dekimono no tame ni... makerarenai! - Shin no tatakai wa, kore kare da! - Kurushii tatakai da ta... - Boku wa makenai! Not sure about Smash 4, but I assume he also has those 4 quotes there. Also, he only did 2 front rolls, never a back roll. When you do a front roll, you switch directions. He also missed the getup and getup attacks from when Roy is at 100% and above. And getup rolls / techs / wall jump techs. And 100% ledge roll/getup/attack. I feel there was more too that I'm forgetting right now. It could perhaps have shown how in Melee, when Roy uses a bat for a FSmash, Roy hits first with his sword, then the bat. It was an overall very good video, though, so I'm not complaining. Amazing editing and recording.

RedHairdo Lmao that's why 90 % of the peoples who played Fe6 agree to say that Roy is indeed ONE of the worst lord in the series,not the worst but close,the main reason is that his growth rate is just average and his stats spread are not that great,to sum him up he's mercenary trying to be a myrmidon and that's not working,but the main reason of why peoples don't like him is because of his awfuly late promotion,i mean c'mon,Chapter 23 ? Really ? He is useful for 3 level or 1 if you didn't get the Legendary weapons. Around mid-game he is more of a burden than anything,while most of the units promotes,he is stucked with mediocre stats and in Hard mode it's a true nightmare.Lords from Fe7 didn't have these problems becasue their stats where spread in the right way (except for Eliwood lol) Same for Fe8. It's either you never played Fe6 in Hard Mode or you are overestimating Roy.

startmirca Melee Marth wasn't better than SSB4 Roy at all. In fact, it doesn't even compare, because the two games had completely different engines, and the engine helped Melee Marth a lot. Quite possibly SSB4 Roy would be even better in Melee's engine. By the way, the grab wasn't that "OP", because it extends Marth's own hurtbox, as well, which is something Top Players still punish today, making it almost impossible to win as a Marth main any Melee major today (along many other reasons, of course).

Master0fHyrule I do enjoy the comparison vids but Id like to make a suggestion. Can you go into "Camera Mode" rather than training mode? For moves such as the upsmash you dont get to see the entire animation due to the way the follow camera works. The camera mode would allow for better angles and would remove the UI from the Melee section. Thanks for reading this. Give it a try maybe?

she has the same moveset as marth thats true but a real clone would be if she played completly the same. her blade makes consistent damage so you can rush down on your enemy as her with marth you need to have a certain distance to be more effective and he can kill much earlier thanks to his tipper. Those small difference they have make their playstyle different enough not to be true clones. True clones would be the koopalings and the alts of other characters : P

The fact that Roy's Binding Blade (also called the Sword of Seals) is shorter and is about the same length as Marth's Falchion (also called the Sword of Light) isn't that big of a deal considering the Roys in Melee had to fight in close-combat style while the Marths had to space the opponent. But then again, the decrease in Roy's sword length DOES encourage players to get even more closer to the opponent for the "tipper".

dialgaveal30 Yup. His sword got shorter and since he attacks in a reverse grip, he doesn't have the same range anymore. But where he had Marth's moveset in Melee which served to keep enemies at a distance, his new moveset encourages you to get in close, where he is the most deadly.

Also worth noting that rots up special has super armor frames at the beginning, and his neural standard is a one hit repeated, as apposed to his two hit from melee (similar to marth and Lucina)

***** I prefer melee roy as well. He was a more fundamental based character who had one of the best d-tilts in the game. While this roy is better, his animations and everything aren't as smooth. His dair, jab, fair, and uptilt make him seem like a madman who has never held a sword before. His range is noticeably worse too. His melee screams are waaaaaayyyyyy better than smash 4 screams. PM roy is still the best by far.

Is it me or does Roy feel different in Smash 4 than in Melee? He might since his animations are different but I can't confirm this. My copy of Melee is scratched so my console has trouble reading it and I can't check. XD Roy feels different than Marth, though.
