Great post, I learnt a lot about my RA body work and wiring cheers. I am going to wait before I get some heated grips for my GP125AC as I am seriously thinking of getting the GP300LC, I just need to get to about 1200 miles on it to see if it loosens up and gives me a little bit more performance as it seems way slower than the advertised stats, at the moment I cant even hold 50mph on most flattish roads
@TonysGarage_UKАй бұрын
50mph real gps speed is about right.. should show about 55 on the dash. Good luck... 300cc is a big improvement

Very good video. Really like how tidy it all looks . While I was watching said to myself he will need longer bolts for barends. Have a Merry Christmas

Very good video. Just got myself a TG300 to add to my old Lambretta and Vespa so a new world of options and upgrades for me. Heated grips seem a fab upgrade. It looks as though when the bike is stripped of some of its bodywork, it worth fitting a fusebox/distribution as you say and run some power cables to various points on the bike for future upgrades. Thanks 👍

Welcome to the modern world 😆.. its good yo have both old and new though! Yes, it is definitely worthwhile, and the new fuse box idea is the simple, 'quick wiring fuse box' idea.

Thanks for that. Think I'll have a go at it myself now I've seen how.

Alright Tony, as per the normal now you've added another great post with honest reviews of the grips. Something that also caught my eye when looking at the video was your phone holder. I'm currently looking for one and wondering where you got yours from and what you think of it? Although it's 19:45pm on New year's Eve I'd like to take the time out to thank you on behalf of the Scootering community for all your help and advice in 2023! Happy New year Buddy and keep those vids coming in 2024 👍

First off... Happy New Year and thank you for commenting. I use a "QuadLock" mirror mount system (not a handlebar one.) I say Quadlock... but actually its an eBay / AliExpress version which I have on all my bikes now and they seem to be great and far cheaper than the official one. Search ebay for ... Cheers Tony. I’m in Skelton, not far from you. Went to Marshalls yesterday for a sit on a GP300 but…I’m only 5ft 5ins and my feet were dangling in mid air! Whilst I’d much prefer this scooter, I’m off to Stockton to look at Royal Enfield motorcycles this morning as I can’t see a way that I can mitigate the seat height issue on the RA GP.

If you can wait a few months, the new lower, thinner models are coming out! Also, you can put a lower seat on them and drop the suspension a little.

Alright Tony, Firstly as always I enjoyed the video, nice to see you meet and overcome problems, just as all of us do. Secondly, would bar end Mirrors work ? or does the actual bar turn? & Lastly, Did you ever consider Heated Gloves v The Grips? Just thinking that the backs of the hands would suffer from wind-chill coldness whereas Heated Gloves warm the whole hand,,,, however, they are proper expensive. Thanks for Videos, Merry Christmas, and a Healthy and Happy NewYear to you and yours.

Hi. First of all.. Merry Xmas, and thanks for commenting. I did consider gloves but have always had the grips, and these have a useful USB port. The whole throttle turns, so it's the same issue if you fit bar ends or bar end mirrors. Still need a small gap. I've not received my new bolts yet, but I'm hoping some good loctite will do the trick! Thanks

Hi Tony - are you from Boro by any chance? I’m looking at buying a RA TG300 . There’s a dealer in Eston - Marshall’s - any thoughts on them? Thanks, keep up the good work.
@TonysGarage_UK10 ай бұрын
Yes I am!.. we'll more redcar way. The dealer is just a few mins down the road from me. I've bought 2 motorbikes from him in the past with good experiences... but he wouldn't service my Royal Alloy because I never bought it from him... So good and bad experiences.

Great video, very well done. Very honest and easily relatable to. Found and bought the fuse box you showed and recommended. Tops. BUT... Cant find the heated grips you installed. I thought they looked perfect for the job. I have an RA 125gp and will follow your path, but any hints on what grips you used ? Looked in all the usual places, but can't fine them with a usb charging socket. All seem to have a switch the size of a house brick.

Thanks. Must admit I’m very tempted by the lovely little RE Meteor I saw today. Do you know if Royal Alloy are introducing the lower versions in all models, and if there are any projected release dates? I’ve had a good search online but can’t find any info on it. If they do the 300 in a lower version, and it’s available before the end of March, then I’ll wait. Cheers.
@TonysGarage_UK10 ай бұрын
Not sure of actual dates but they were shown to the world at recent (2023) motorcycle shows in the far east.
@peterthompson281610 ай бұрын
Sorry Tony - one last thing - as Marshall’s wouldn’t service your scooter due to it not being bought from them, where locally can do it? (Looking at a possible private purchase) Many thanks again!
@TonysGarage_UK10 ай бұрын
I went to the dealer in Scarborough as it was the 1st service and I wanted the official stamp so to speak. They aren't official dealers anymore though now, but there are plenty around, Billingham bank top I think do scooters and one in South bank. TBH they are very easy to service. I'll be doing mine soon, so I'll be videoing all that.
