Royal American Shows Midway Rides..Vintage

This is a video of several video clips of the Royal American Shows at the State Fair of Oklahoma from 1962 & 1963.
Acquired from the Okla Historical Society.
I put all the video clips on one video with midway sound effects..

Thanks for bringing back many wonderful memories. Royal American used to swing through Western Canada (Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, and Regina (my city). Great times!

You're welcome. I traveled with RAS in the 70's and Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, and Regina were my favorite spots. They were the big money spots.

Royal American Shows...the largest and greatest carnival ever! At its height, it traveled on 90 railroad cars in two sections...a total of 57 72' flatcars packed with beautifully decorated wagons. I really miss those days.

and there very little or no regulations on the amusement industry in those days. there was a fear of bad publicity and with injury and loss of life. yet with all of regulation and liability, there are still 1 or 2 horror stories a year that get so much attention. moral of the story...rides were and are safe,,,

Round-Up was one of my favorites, but the best of all were the double ferris wheels. Absolutely awesome midway - unlike anything today. Those were the days!
