Good morning Doug. Prayers 🙏 to all the people that have lost everything in LA. I’m wondering if any of the cruise lines have volunteered to have a ship for the ones whose houses have been lost? I think there are older ships that are out of service that could house some people, at least temporarily. It would be a great thing to do. (Should already be using them for the homeless veterans but we won’t get into that right now) Have an awesome trip Doug.

I cannot stop laughing at the way you phrased it! 🤣 I am not surprised that things like "Buy me a drink" are happening when you limit the number of alcoholic drinks on a drink package. I was on that Liberty Cruise. Was quite the spectacle for about 2 hours with the helo buzzing us constantly and coast guard cutter running flank to get to us (huge almost rooster tail coming off the back of it as it approached)

Yes, 15 drinks per 24 hrs and if you try to get more there is a noise maker they ring when they cut you off. Very bizarre but kinda funny.

My heart breaks for all those impactwd by the CA fires. It is unbelievable however that cruise lines are only offering them refunds or credits if their sail dates are Jan or Feb. Many have lost everything they owned, do the cruise lines think their lives will be back intact by March??

Exactly my idea. Drink packages, that have no limits or high limits, are just creating all kinds of of problems from drunk people, giving away drinks to people without package, to wastage of taking a sip and leaving it. Just stop drink packages and offer drinks, published price including gratuities, for a reasonable price that is still very profitable. All of the problems resolved in 1 day. Virgin Voyages does it that way and I spent more on alcoholic drinks in their cruise compared to other cruises as a drink package for me makes no sense with my partner not drinking alcoholic beverages at all. Virgin Voyages are profitable doing it that way and I did not spot drunk people and their prices were reasonable for the drinks. You can offer a bar tab type of options that you can buy and gives you a level of discount for your commitment.
