I think Solarium is such a great part of Quantum and Oasis-class ships! It offers a much quieter experience for people if they don't want to do the Windjammer. However, this is supposed to be an adults-only space. On the Harmony last month, I saw small children everywhere in the solarium spaces. Unfortunately, it was not at all a good experience. I made sure the cruise line knew this was being allowed to happen. Adults-only spaces are super important to respect for everyone's comfort.

It sure is! Too bad some parents who don't abide by the rules still bring kids in there. I've seen this in other cruise lines as well. The crew members usually will not enforce the rules unless the disturbance is very bad.

@@TVHouseHistorian Disappointed that there are NO adult only places to eat on the entire ship. Even in the Solarium (non-food area) there were kids and even babies in strollers. Kids have the entire ship.

@@kim34xyz567 I so agree. Royal seems to be pandering to families more and more. Well, they bring in the most money, so when they complain they get what they want. I think if more people complain about the adult areas needing to remain ADULTS ONLY, Royal might listen.

Another great video. Looks interesting and a smaller version of the Windjammer Buffet. The price on the Brazilian Steakhouse looks like a pretty good deal, especially when you consider some of the premium meat selections.

Thank you so much! 😊 Yeah it's like a mini-Windjammer, though they did have a few unique items like the English muffin sandwich, egg burritos, and grapefruit. Samba Grill sounds pretty reasonably priced for sure vs the Brazilian steakhouses on land- we'll have to try it next time.

Thanks! Going on a cruise on Quantum of the Seas in July with my dad and stepmother. Sounds like this could be fun for brunch. It also looks like the lay-out is better than the Windjammer. The Windjammer looks chaotic to me.

Thanks for another great video! Saw you guys on MSC, is the MSC line, comparable to Royal? Looking at Preziosa for Norway. Any ideas food wise?

Thanks so much Christian for the Super! 😊 We had a lot of fun on our MSC cruise- they had good entertainment and activities, which remind of the larger NCL ships. But the buffet and the main dining were not as good as the other major cruise lines. MSC had some really good pizza though- maybe the best. Overall too much carbs at the buffet, and the plating at the MDR was off. That was several years ago, so maybe they have improved. We hope to go on a MSC cruise in the next two years- they do have some of the newest ships.

@@TravelTouristVideos Thanks for the info! I think your first video I saw, you were boarding MSC, with your little (at the time) son. Just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your helpful videos. Some friends said MSC food has improved some, but others say hit and miss. Mind you, just spent 15 nights on Royal’s Explorer, food was good, but not as good and the selection smaller, with fewer venues than on Radiance in Dec. So, it can vary by ship.

That's a good question- we did see a custom omelet sign nearby where they had the ham carving for breakfast. We didn't see it for brunch, though it was late in the morning when we went, so they may well have had it earlier. Thanks for watching our videos, and have a fantastic cruise! 🙂

I forgot to mention: have you guys ever done Coco Cay? The food on the island was pretty standard picnic fare, but I really really enjoyed it. Had to be careful I didn't over-stuff myself before snorkeling!!!

Nothing here seemed super exiting, was there a fresh egg station? I think the appeal is: kid free area; but since we’re traveling with our kids (11 and 13), I don’t know that we will be able to explore this for our upcoming trip 😢 It would be neat to see some different items than the windjammer, just to make it a little more special…maybe eggs Benedict, speciality French toast, omelet station w/ speciality ingredients.

Kids are allowed at the Solarium Bistro so no problem. They did have take custom omelet/egg orders for breakfast, but it's easy to miss because you don't see the actual station as the eggs are cooked in the galley. But yeah just a few unique items and most are also at Windjammer.
