Hope AI and cheap robots can make similar quality wood pieces cheaper one day. People will still pay more for the hand made ones, don't worry. They'll probably pay even more for certified hand made after AI robot clones start flooding the market.

@@Omega9935 Well chess might be a bit too niche for an early application of handcrafting the pieces so it could take a bit longer than something people will buy millions of each year. But it will happen and I'll be glad to finally be able to afford a quality wooden set.

AI robots might take over this one but not any sooner. However, handcrafted precision would still be difficult to match

@@royalchessmall i dunno, i think i’d appreciate the detail of hand crafted and the precision of AI controlling those robot hands. The AI could add a personal touch to each set it sits there carving all day every day of the year
