Royal Divorces (2023)

1992, the year which the queen herself described as an “annus horribillis”, goes down in history as a tragic period in time for the royals. Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Charles have gone through public divorces which shocked the nation. On July 29, 1981, nearly one billion television viewers in 74 countries tuned in to witness the marriage of Prince Charles, heir to the British throne, to Lady Diana Spencer, a young English schoolteacher. However this marriage only lasted 5 years as the couple divorced on the 28th August 1996. On July 23, 1986, Prince Andrew and Sarah married in a grand royal wedding held at Westminster Abbey in London. Their marriage lasted longer as the couple divorced 10 years later on the 30th May 1996. Princess Anne’s marriage lasted the longest of them all, however similarly ended in divorce. She married her first husband, Capt. Mark Phillips, an army officer, on November 14, 1973, in Westminster Abbey and later divorced on 23rd April 1992. All three couples faced tests in their marriages that ultimately lead them to separate.

15 minutes in and I'm forced out again by darn music!😞 At my elder age I wear headphones to hear voices in videos and was so enjoying this UNTIL music obliterated Anne's voice. This happens with so many videos now that I'm sad because I just want to be included but am shut out.

I feel sorry for the royal family. It must get so lonely having so many people around you and observing you and still feel like you are utterly alone on a pedestal. It must feel like a giant gilded cage enconced with glass so everyone can see you but no one can be near you. The wealth and titles have become the very noose that leaves them hanging whilst everyone watches and scrambles for relics or souvenirs. How utterly alone they must feel late at night

Divorced was unacceptable in the 16th century because the pope is the one who decide, but now as the monarch is the new head of the church, the monarch would decide whatever wanted or not to divorce

You need to take a math class. King Charles was married to Diana Spencer for 15 years, not 5, and thus their marriage lasted...on paper... Longer than that of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

the Queen or now King (and Queen) are always referred to as Your /His /Her Majesty, never royal highness which is a lower rank also at about the 1.58min mark is a picture of Prince Edward at a shoot - not Prince Andrew (They do look quite different) whom was the subject of discusion im afraid i wont be watching any more

Stop it nobody made Diana leave that hotel . people forget Diana fired her royal protection cuz martin Bashir made up fraudulent documents saying the staff was spying on her & was being paid . It was proven he made those lies & documents up . The royal family couldnt force diana to keep her royal protection officers . It also was noted that it was the FRENCH paparazzi that chased her into that tunnel . They arrested 10 paps that night all french & 2 Italian paps . .
