Nice one OPR - what a great excuse to go out for a bacon sarnie 😎☀

Any excuse, you know what it's like, just got back from a quick jaunt around Bannau Brycheiniog and a Bacon Sarnie on the A40. They are saying snow on the way again = plenty salt on road = bike in shed 😂

Great ride along, The bike sounds perfect! I have never tried a heated jacket, might look into one. Thanks for the information! Stay safe!

Highly recommend heated gear, makes winter riding a pleasure, however I am learning that the Classic 350 battery / alternator cannot cope with the energy draw with jacket on full power, I also have the vest which is fine. Anyway bike in shed for a while as our temperature is set to drop so salt on roads and possibly more snow. 😂

@@powysrider Great information, Thank you, still waiting on salt to clear here, had a couple warm enough days, but salt s still heavy on the roads. One good point of getting older, seasons go by faster these days, Spring will be here soon!🤔

I'm tempted to buy some heated gear but it's not really the comfort that bothers me, it's the Winter roads, or at least the road conditions. Rural Pembrokeshire, near home the roads are nearly always wet with run off from the fields and thick with leaves in places. Add a little frost and at 80 years I'm easily persuaded to leave the cover on the bike...Spring is on the way. I always enjoy your ride outs though. 😊

I know what you mean about rural roads, I must admit I do pick my days for riding, just been out to the Beacons but with ice and snow forecast bike will stay in shed for a while, a bit of a clean I expect. Thanks for your comment, as you say spring is on the way! 🤞

New flavour of the year around this cc is the Honda GB350 think the RE classic and Bullet more classical but hey that’s just my view, however the service intervals and cost are much better on Honda

That sounds great, I think I'll have to get some heted stuff, I think gloves will be first because that's where I really feel it 👍

A bit of an update...I don't think the Royal Enfield Classic 350 alternator has enough output for the full jacket on full power, went out for a longer ride today with jacket and gloves on full power and the kit switched off. A bit more testing on different settings is required. Gloves alone are fine.

@@powysrider Crikey, I guess it is a lot. The battery is about 8 amp hour so that's less than an hour with both on full if it's not being replaced and I guess it could sense that it wasn't. A little voltmeter display might be handy to stick on it so you can see it while you ride to get an idea of how it's being loaded?

Love your bike ride and the chat you give us,fantastic scenery. Can I ask if you got your bike from Royal Enfield Cardiff ,I am looking to get a classic. I live in merthyr Tydfil. I'm not sure where to go for a test ride, etc. Can't go for too long because the wife is in hospital.

Hi Dave, I got my bike from Malvern, Bikes4all, to be honest I didn't know there was a dealer in Cardiff, that's good news. Best of luck 👍

Great video, I’ve got the same Keis gear and it’s fantastic. I can feel the heat through the gloves so are you sure they are connected…? Mine have batteries for each glove.
@powysrider2 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment, my gloves do work powered directly from the bike and keep my hands warm, the only thing is I can't feel the heat I just don't have cold hands, if I switch them off I can tell the difference even though I think they are great winter gloves without the heat. I may have to try powering by battery as my RE classic 350 's alternator isn't quite up to running jacket and gloves on full power. Will sort it as I love the kit, I have never been so comfortable riding in winter as I am now.👌

Have you changed the headlight bulb to LED? "Tiger Ness" had the change the bulb because the alternator on the 350 wasn't coping with the heated gear and halogen headlight.
@powysrider2 күн бұрын
Hi, yes I have changed the headlight and the front sidelights to LED after watching that TigerNess video, done about a year ago, so far so good.
