Many thanks for this, my caliper came from a 2019 HD Street XG 750 (£90 from eBay) and fitted no problem. It has made a huge improvement and really compliments the other mod's I have completed. 👍

No problem. I hope this works out long term. I see no reason why it shouldn’t but time will tell. Thanks for watching.

Just need to make a clarification as I saw incorrect part numbers posted for the caliper you used. The caliper is from a 2015 HD Street 750 (part number 41300030). 2016-2019 HD Street 750 caliper (part number 41300158A) is different and will not be a direct bolt on. 2015 XG750/500 calipers should fit the Himalayan (part number 41300030). No HD logo is the giveaway. 2016 onward (part number 41300158A) will not fit.

I still have the brake caliper box for my Harley Davidson brake and it does have the part number on the top. I was curious, so I had to go down and look at the part number. I bolted caliper part number 41300158A onto my Himalayan. I believe I used two standard washers (2 total) to align it on the disk.

Kind sir, my I suggest you ditch the RE brake pads, and fit ebc? Whilst I have not changed my caliper, ebc pads are better than the RE pads. So the HD caliper combined with ebc pads should be awesome. Keep up the good work, thanks.

Thank you for the video! Don't even need the pie - can keep it and eat it (both old & new pistons are round and pi gets canceled out, no?) - so surface area of the pistons is 14^2 / 13^2 - ends up ~15% more if my mathematicing is correct. Would someone chime in if it's reasonable to assume clamping powah is proportional to piston surface area? I don't think it's related directly as it might depend on the brake fluid type and the rest of the system, but perhaps it's proportional?

If I remember the last time I taught sliding friction in high-school physics... it is proportional. Sliding friction is directly proportional to the force against the back of the pads (we call this "normal" force, because it's perpendicular to the pad and rotor), and the force exerted by the pistons is the product of pressure in the hydraulic system times area of the pistons. So... 16% more piston area translates into 16% more normal force, which translates into 16% more frictional force at any given pressure in the hydraulic system. In other words, 16% more stopping power for the same squeeze on the lever. The one thing I have noticed is that the friction point has moved a bit closer to the handlebar (vs. the stock caliper), which makes sense--the master cylinder does have to move 16% more fluid into the caliper to press the pads against the rotor. Luckily, this seems to be well within the master cylinder's capabilities.

Great video Mike. I am in possession of the 2015 street 750 caliper but it is missing the hose line bolt. Does Harley use a standard fitting or is the one you used a particular size? That is all I need to acquire to finish this project. My caliper even came from Ebay with brand new Brembo 181HH pads! I already have the OEM RE pads and EBC 181TT's for when I want to get dirty and muddy. Any help with the mounting bolt size would help considerably! Thanks, great job on your project.

I don’t 100% remember but I think I used the Harley banjo bolt and the RE brake line.

Hey are there any good aftermarket master cylinders for the street 750? The one we have is terrible as it loses all its pressure and it's basically a clutch. We tried everything to fix it but we think the master cylinder is most likely ruined. We known a 2015 btw.

Hi , great video . I have just did the same thing but after installed and bleed with vacuum bleeder , it has no pressure to build up . Pump the brake lever and bleed through bleed screw for more than half hr . Finally I started the bike and pressure build up again . Seems fine now . Do u have same saturation when u did it ? Thanks

It took a while to get the pressure built up for sure. Maybe the ABS could have done that for us but not sure?

Great... Now I have another project to do on my bike 😩. Do you happen to have a part number for it? I see a few on eBay and want to make sure I get the correct one. And does it matter which year Harley Street 750 it's from?
