This is exactly what happened to me. This swap out is the perfect, easiest diagnosis! Living in the US, I replaced both relays with Duralast relay model 20129 I picked up at my local AutoZone -- the electrical diagram on the Duralast is exactly identical to that on the original and to the one found on Hitchcock's website, so it was a perfect match. All works great! (I will of course carry an extra or two with me in the future.) Thank you!

Poor Man MC can you make a list of the things you had to fix on the 2021. IK you changed the relays, what about the parasitic from gear indicator to rectifier drain, tps and idle air adjustment, did you delete evap system. Looking to buy a 2021, but want to replace what needs replacing right away.

I sold it. I think the only things I did was replace a faulty fuel pump (under warranty), and replace the relays

Thanks for the video. Same here but the engine light stays on after replacing relays, spark plug, oil and filter. Runs like a dam champ but the engine light continues to glow! The idle bounced between 1600 and 1900 RPM's so I tryed to adjust TPS. Idles smoother but still....engine light. 560 miles. 2022 leftover

@@poormansmotorcycleclub7581 I did! Appearently when the bike lies down...doggone sensor does its Job. I think " scooter in the sticks" across the Pond had a quick video on turning service light off on a 350 classic I believe. Shuting that off triggered the engine light to shut off. Go figure right. Changed the oil, oilfilter, and plug. Turned idle down. 😁😁😁😁😁😁. Smiles from ear to ear. Going to tack a wack at adjusting valves and oil change again. 800 miles. Have considered the Meteor and Scram. Life is Good!

I swapped them out with the Hitchcocks upgrade and they still are giving me a problem..... sometimes it primes sometimes it doesn't.... 2022 model and with all the issues this is my last Royal Enfield and I like the bike but I am constantly working or replacing factory parts... terrible quality control from a company that has been around in India for so long... you pay for what you get.

Have the same issue. Did you just swap their places as a first remedy? What are these anyway? Both for pump or?
@poormansmotorcycleclub75812 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. I saw a couple of KZbin videos which suggested swapping out the one pictured in my video, but both of the videos I saw admitted they weren’t 100% sure which relay governed which function. A coin toss. I experienced a failure sometime later, so I ordered another relay and that way both of them had been replaced. On my way home from work not long after, the bike shut off and had to be towed 50 miles to the dealership. There they diagnosed a bad fuel pump, replaced under warranty, and I’ve had zero problems in the months since. Obviously, I am not a mechanic nor an electrician, but this was what happened to me.

@@poormansmotorcycleclub7581 thanks for the reply. Does not sound great. What was your mileage at the time the problem presented itself? Mine is at 1130 km and I'm finding a lot of same problems happening to people at about 1000 km (600 miles). I just had this happen today, went home from work and it wouldn't start for a couple of minutes. I have a 5 min ride home but had to stop at a railroad crossing. Left it at neutral, died after a few minutes. Started on 3rd try, came to my house, stopped for traffic and it died as I was turning into my yard. Started up right away and I've been turning it on and off for 5 minutes, worked fine. I've sent an email to my dealer, they're not so close (around 80 miles) so I don't have enough courage to ride there and I have no intention of organizing transport so hopefuly they'll offer to do it for me (in Croatia so delivery for assumed warranty work is not really mandatory by law).

@@filips989 Man, that's awful. I guess I was about 500 miles. I learned that if you don't hear the priming sound when you flip on the red switch, you're not going anywhere
@filips9892 жыл бұрын
@@poormansmotorcycleclub7581 haha I went today. That first time it managed to start without priming at all. I'll check the relay for sure, I did take out the battery for winter so I'll give the benefit of the doubt, I might have contributed to it. Mine has 5 relays, 4 under seat and the fuel pump should be under the right hand side cover.
@filips9892 жыл бұрын
@@poormansmotorcycleclub7581 just an FYI as a followup... was just contacted by the dealer, they've sent me a new relay in post. Apparently, there's been a recall. The original 5 pin relays are being replaced with 4 pin relays. Should arrive tomorrow.

I NEED HELP!!! 2021Himalayan, changing the taillights I shorted the fuse. So I changed ALL fuses and the TWO relays. Now everything electrical works. But when I hit the start button I get nothing. Fuel pump activates, battery is good, but nothing from the starter. I bought TWO starter relays still nothing. I bought two taillights and no power to taillights. I jump the starter meaning I put a wire to the positive terminal from the battery to the starter and starts fine. I am at my whits here
