This RE Himalayan "niggle" as the Indians call it, is one of the reasons I wont be getting this bike. Was loving the looks and classic charm, but electrical issues, crappy welds etc. Made me change my mind. I am getting an XT250.

@@poormansmotorcycleclub7581 Thank you SO much for your video. I've ordered a couple relays from Hitchcock's per your idea. My husband's bike (the problem one) is a 2018 Himalayan. Mine's a 2019 Himalayan and it has never had any stalling, failure to start, or cutting out issues. If the new relays fix his bike, then I guess I can't be telling him it's "user error" all the time.

So I take it you had fuel pump issues as well? Did you narrow it down to bad relays?

Tbh, I took the advice of someone on the Himmie FB group, haven’t had a problem since. All I did was swap relays, and started being more consistent using my battery tender

can somebody elaborate on : why does one need a double contact relay, when the normally closed contact is not used i.e. 87a, ?????🤔

That's to reduce the number of different relay part numbers required. Relays are often used in systems where they switch power between contacts rather than being mere on/off switches.

I am facing pulsing issue on my brand new Himalayan 2021... Missing like feel @ lower RPM... So changing the fuel pump relay will make any difference???

I would try two things. First, clean all of the grease that came on the relays and the plug with alcohol or contact cleaner and get the grease out. I had better results with that because I was getting a CEL and fuel cut on mine. Granted, I replaced both relays with the Hitchcock ones (primary and fuel pump are side by side)..and since they have ran great. Granted, my charcoal canister is deleted and my secondary air is also deleted which helped a ton. The bike now runs how I wished it did from the factory.

Hi, ive recently face power lag issue and the FI pump not starting, so given it to service center they have changed the FI pump and FI 5pin relay to 4 pin relay(just one) but still iam facing thr power drop issue. Any idea? Do we need to change all the relays to a 4pin?

@@hari_v06 Sorry, i mean an electronic update. The relais i used is a Bosch relay, but you get it also from Hella. Hope i could be of assistence
