I love the sound the engine makes. Just a chill thump-thump-thump. Gives you the impression that the Hunter "takes things easily" rather than one of those "rush everywhere,max productivity" bike,if that makes any sense

I hope you are on the mend. This was as scientific as you could possibly get given the circumstances. Thanks for doing this. So with virtually no change in volume the reason for doing this would be the quality or pitch of the sound.

Correct! The Coffman's Shorty is about 5 lbs lighter, significantly smaller overall, and has a deeper exhaust tone. The best improvement to my ear is the elimination of the huffy/raspy sound from the OEM exhaust. (Note that this video was recorded the day before the Hunter's untimely demise. I'll edit and post the final ride vlog sometime this weekend, minus the accident footage) 😉👍 --QM

Started watching your video’s yesterday. Really like what you done with the Hunter. Looks great. Exhaust not to my liking. But, it does sound fantastic. Think I need to get that fuel lite fitted. Got dna/ exhaust/cat delete on Meteor. Then, I watch video and you had crash.😮😮😮 Man, just glad your ok. Hopefully you do something nice with it. Watch Glyn Owen. He’s done a Meteor, and has just started a classic. (Both written off, recovered) I bought that Led bulb, but it doesn’t fit in, it hits the cap that’s inside the headlight so sticks out about eighth of inch, it’s fitted, for now Enjoying your channel. The Hunter factory muffler looks quite nice even if the sound is a bit muted. The Coffman sounds better but that big red logo clashes with the clean, understated look of the Hunter. Also think it's a bit too short/small visually.

Hope you get better soon and get justice…and deffo get another dapper grey Hunter! I’ve got the same colour Hunter; so far I’ve added Fuel X Lite, DNA filter, Hitchcocks Free Flow Exhaust, shorty adjustable levers, sump guard, Barkbuster hand guards, bar end mirrors, screen, custom seat and Hitchcocks shorter rear shocks. I’ve also fitted the Tripper. Thinking of engine bars and extra lights next… Do you know if that exhaust is going to be made available as a production model? Love the look of it! Greetings from the USA! Yes, I plan to get another identical Hunter in Dapper Grey after the insurance matters are sorted and my back & hips are well enough to ride again. I still have a few weeks of recuperation, and an unknown wait on the insurance claims. The Coffman's Shorty will very likely be available as a production item. The manufacturer was waiting for my feedback on that prototype unit, so this should cement the deal! When it reaches the "official" status, you will be able to order it in a multitude of colors and either with or without the Coffman's nameplate on the side. They have a new laser-etching process that can cut custom names or graphics into the side of the muffler (monochrome, of course). You can check out their website here: coffmansexhaust.com/ . No official word yet, but the insurance adjuster advised that it appears to be totaled. The swingarm and rear subframe are bent, and the frame is broken at the left-rear down tube. I'm still compiling my spreadsheet with all the upgrades and accessories that were lost in the incident (including a new Michelin Road 6 front tire with only 30 miles on it). That list will also include my riding equipment and electronics that were damaged or destroyed... it was a very costly incident. 😒 --QM

Thanks, James! I'm still bent and sore, but slowly improving. The initial swelling and joint stress is subsiding, and the scrapes/lacerations are healing. The deep tissue trauma and bone bruises are gonna take a long time to heal... those are definitely keeping my attention. Somewhere along the way, I've lost my appetite and I haven't eaten anything in a couple of days. I haven't left the house in 10 days (except for a quick doctor's visit). I'm able to walk around (slowly) and go upstairs/downstairs at home now after 10 days of near immobility, so life is improving! Maybe I'll hitch a ride to go out to eat at a local restaurant today. 😉👍 --QM

I'm just wondering if you shouldn't just buy your the whole wrecked 350 back from insurance company for parts if the cost isn't too high. That's if you plan getting another 350 .I think you said you were.

Yes, that's my plan. I'll buy it back from insurance if it's an option. I would like to pull the pieces that weren't damaged, like the exhaust and FuelX Lite EFI computer. It would also be nice to have a spare set of wheels (if those aren't damaged). Wish me luck! 😉👍 --QM

@@QuasiMotard isn't the front tire road5-6 still in good shape. If possible to buy whole bike you'd have parts for new one right at Hand . No ordering, wait time. I know the frame is bent/broken probably the forks , handlebar. But there's so much of it that would come in handy. Like I said if price isn't too high. Hey just take your Tools to the holding yard & Strip it down leaving just the frame, stock tire. Was the Michelin the front or rear tire. That should be ok minus the rim..

@@QuasiMotard Is it ever not an option? The last time someone totaled my car for me, left turner, me keeping the car was part of my requirements for the settlement. It was back in my yard before anything was signed. They dont want it, they want a signature. If memory serves, I got about 10% less than the cars value by keeping the car. But the built engine was worth more than the whole car. Put it in my brothers truck. Wheels sold for more than it cost me to get it back, then scrapped the car making a little more money.

@RebelCowboysRVs I will certainly inquire about the buyback option. GEICO didn't offer that option to me when my Honda Pilot was totaled in a rear-end accident back in February. Houston has become a very dangerous place to ride or drive! This incident is also being covered under GEICO (both for the at-fault driver and myself), so I'm hoping for the best (and fastest) disposition. 😉👍 --QM

Thank you for this comparison. However, I wonder if it was a good decision at the moment. Your motorcycle is still new and will probably have a warranty and guarantee on the motorcycle from the dealer. Also, the motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield has invested a lot of money in the development of the motorcycle, where all parts are matched to the motorcycle and the engine. I understand, of course, that you want to improve something visually and acoustically. However, I am always careful with conversions with accessories that are not offered by the motorcycle manufacturer itself. Especially when the motorcycle is new and has a warranty from the dealer.

when considering measurement uncertainties and lack of trials, your experiment is inconclusive. The real 'muffler' is directly right of the expensive exhaust tip btw.

Sorry, you're incorrect. The bulge located in the midpipe under the engine is the catalytic converter; the muffler is the removable portion of the exhaust. I used the official EU/CA and SAEJ2825 measurement processes for this informal test which define 20" distances from the exhaust, 20" from the ground, and a 45° offset from the exhaust tip.
