I was really impressed when you said the bag is stitched together using ultrasonic welds. My family business is making high end mattresses and we use those welds/stitches to hold them together, specially the spring pockets which are permanently under a lot of pressure. I can tell you that the fabric will give up long before those welds do!

My son and myself have been using lomo dry bags for years. Love the stuff and would highly recommend them. One side comment though. The difference between the yellow and black ones is almost literally night and day. While the yellow ones are bright and light inside the black ones are an exercising in caving, with a head tourch being used to peer into the dim dark corners.

I bought some lomo bags on your recommendation before my trip to Seattle. I had so much kit in the 60 litre dry bag I couldn’t even get 2 rolls of the opening to close it properly. . It rained so much on that trip but my gear was bone dry. Top kit for sure and so cheap.

Another quality review Stuart which was very useful to me. I am considering getting a pair of these Lomo medium sized bags for my 2012 Triumph T100 to increase carrying capacity for a light shop with the wife on the back. My only concern was fitting the bags to the pannier rack which came with the bike but the Lomo system looks to fit all. Many thanks.

Thank you Stuart for all your videos on the Interceptor. I currently have a Bonneville T120, but am seriously thinking of changing it for the Royal Enfield. It has been on my mind for a while, but I was knocked off the Triumph on a roundabout in August and this incident has made me think even deeper about a change. Although the incident was at slow speed, it still cost £2500 to repair the bike as it went down on its left hand side; luckily I was not injured. It has been properly repaired by Triumph with a lot of new parts, including handlebars. However, in my mind it is not the same bike that I bought and I don’t have the same affection for it as when I took ownership; this might sound strange to some people, but that’s the way I feel. There is nothing wrong at all with the Bonneville, it’s just me. I have sat on the Interceptor at MC Live and will be testing one next year. I am so impressed with all the reviews of it and the price makes it that more attractive. If purchased, I will certainly be using your videos and advice to customise it to suit my needs. Thank you again. Kind regards, Andy.

Hello Stuart - can you tell me if these panniers require any support rails & also do they cover the pillion footrests? Excellent video as usual
@mwmosser
@mwmosser 5 жыл бұрын
My question as well - from what I can see, this looks like your standard Interceptor with no rail attached, right Stuart? It looks like you're just using the center-stand assist handle (on the left) and the standard back grab handle which runs round the entire back and side as your supports (well, along with the shocks). Is that right?
@stuartfillingham
@stuartfillingham 5 жыл бұрын
as I said in the video. they are designed to be used with standard pannier supports, but you may get away with it with some bikes. the remote reservoirs on the shock heads do actually hold the pannier away from the right hand shock spring, but im undecided as to whether it would work with the interceptor until I get chance to try it out properly.

@jjnewman65
@jjnewman65 3 жыл бұрын
To answer my own question they don’t. I bought a pair and sent them back. No quibbles from Lomo. The mole system wasn’t suitable for the Motone pannier rails. I have since bought a pair of Kriega 18litre (per bag) bags. They are expensive but superbly made if a little fiddly to fit with their strap system.

Those look like very usefull panniers. Only thing with that test is; Nearly all the penetrating water and muck is thrown up from the wheel at the back and the rest comes from nearly all one direction only (70mph+ say60mph opposing wind) - so not so sure how relevant that test is really. Have found the same thing with quite a lot of outdoor kit.
@stuartfillingham
@stuartfillingham 5 жыл бұрын
Any one with experience of touring in heavy rain will tell you its very relevant Giles. The closures are positioned specifically so as not to be exposed to high wash from the rear wheel. In real life they would never be exposed to that volume or pressure of water, whatever the wind is doing.

@@alpinab14 hello mate, yes I've always thought it strange pacsafe seem to have no competition. Maybe they have a very cleverly worded patent/copyright?! I'm going to buy and try one of their 55l nets and try it around one of my soft panniers. A couple of months back I rode from the Midlands to the South of France. Used my pacsafe around my large waterproof bag. On the ferry over I must've had at least half a dozen other bikers comment and ask about the pacsafe net and a further three or four at garages on the way down. It would seem a lot of bikers are unaware of this product and brand. The steel nets are so practical too. You don't have to put stuff inside a rucksack, rollbag or pannier of course. When it got warm I took my jacket off, loosened the locking closing cable and stuffed my jacket inbetween the rollbag and net. When I stopped for coffee or fuel I just hopped off my bike, wandered inside not worried about all my stuff. Yes of course if some scumbag really wants your gear they'll use a good strong pair of wire cutters. But for beating an opportunist theif, pacsafe steel nets are great. Cheers
