Another great video especially with the shock view and then chest view showing your ride. Brilliant!

Great video! So my take is it's a much needed and totally worthwhile upgrade! Looking forward to you changing your front forks and posting your opinions about it. Cheers!

@KL KL Thanks for the comment. I think the upgrade is definitely worthwhile. Not something you have to have, but you won't go back once you get it. Waiting on a scissor jack to come in so I can finish the front. Thanks for watching.

Im running same shocks but in UK. Our roads are probably bumpier so here are my settings. Loaded sag 27mm, compression 4 from minimum, rebound 8 from minimum. They blow Hagon shocks into the weeds.
@my-enfield612 Жыл бұрын
@Paul Messenger Thanks for the comment. Most of the roads around here a pretty good. I will probably have the adjustments a bit softer when I start trailing. I haven't tried Hagon. I would like to give Ohlins a try someday though. Thanks again for the comment and thanks for watching.

Great video! Is having these installed a noticeable difference? I'm thinking of doing the suspension but leaving the forks as standard or do you recommend doing both. Wondering if I'll notice much improvement by just doing the rear suspension only. Thank you again.
@darylwootton5217 Жыл бұрын
I did the same upgrade with the YSS front and rear, no comparison to the stock setup the YSS is so much better. I did the back 1st as it was easier to do and right away the rear of the bike was settled down, not bouncy at all and kept the tire on the ground. The front spring kit added stability, less dive under braking but was not as huge a feeling difference as the rears. Thanks for the video, looking forward to you high comp with cam upgrade.

I did the YSS front fork kit very early on, now have over 20,000 miles on the kit and it is still very effective over the stock mushy front end. People often fail to mention that the emulators are the MAIN reason for the very noticeable difference; also it is rarely mentioned that changing the weight of the fork oil has a vivid effect upon damping also. Just two quick points about valid front-end improvement that totally change the character of the Enfield 650s.
@darylwootton5217 Жыл бұрын
@@frederickwoods5943 I agree with your assessment, I also went with a heavier fork oil, I think Enfield recommended 5 and i went with 10, the YSS kit changed the bike completely. I did change tires as well as I hated the stock Phantoms and went with some Bridgestone’s I’ve heard some don’t like the Battlax’s but they’ve worked well for me. There will be more changes to come but am enjoying seeing & hearing others experiences and hopefully learning something along the way.

@@darylwootton5217 my 2012 GSXr-750 came with B'Stone hypersports. I switched the Metzler tires on 2 Triumphs to Battlax. On my INT650, a 2020 nothing but B'Stone Spitfire 11F on the front (16,000 miles compared to 12,000 with the original Pirelli)...I bought 3 of them size 110/90 x 18 before they were discontinued. I have run Battlax BT-45 140/70 × 18 on the rear and got 12,500 miles; ran two Pirelli 130/70's barely 7,000 each. I am currently running a 150/70 x 18 BT-46 on the rear, it weighs exactly the same as the BT-45 140 did when new. Best combo is 110/90 and 140/70 on the Enfield 650s.
@darylwootton5217 Жыл бұрын
@@frederickwoods5943 Thanks for that update. I'm currently running the BT-46 front & rear with a 100/90 front & 130/70 rear, I changed out the Phantoms at approx. 7,500km (4,660 miles) as they didn't inspire confidence, I only have approx. 1,500km on the Battlax but they have made for a much nicer ride. I tend to ride in dry weather only unless I've been caught out.

@Daryl Wootton Thanks for the comment. Yes, the new setup is much better than stock. I'm gonna do the fork kit too. I already have it. Just waiting on a scissor lift. Eventually, I want fully adjustable shocks on the front though. I should get started on the engine sometime soon. Trying to get a tuner and exhaust first. Thanks again for the comment and thanks for watching.

Hi great video again with the dark art of suspension settings made easy to follow. Out of interest how heavy are you - I guess this could have a bearing on the settings?

Hello, nicely done and quickly tuned in and adjusted. Do you have any historical sites in your area to ride to and visit?
@my-enfield612 Жыл бұрын
@ClutchPedalReturnSprg Thanks for the comment. Besides Fort Pickens there's not much. There are more historical buildings than sites in this town. I've been looking for somewhere cool to ride. When I'm done with the build, I want to take the bed off my RAM 3500 and design a lift for the bike. Then I can take the bike everywhere and just set it on the ground when I find spots to ride. Thanks again for the comment and thanks for watching.

a openion try increasing the shock length to it's max, would help you out in how the motorcycle leans (easy or very very easy/ would require you to adjust few times to get to your liking) the bonus on it is you get bit more ground clearance.
@my-enfield612 Жыл бұрын
@suipful Thanks for the comment. I didn't mention it in the video, but I did extend the overall length by 11/16 of an inch. Yes, I agree leans are better. The bike digs into corners now. Very smooth handling. No over or under steer. No speed wobbles either. Thanks again for the comment and thanks for watching.

How much is your weight? Asking because trying to use your setup for my shocks which I’m getting soon
@my-enfield612 Жыл бұрын
@Igor Leahu I weigh 155 pounds. I hope the video gets you close on setup. Try a few different settings before you settle on just one. Try to feel the way the handling changes with different settings, not just a softer or stiffer feel. Some settings might feel great going straight but not so great going through turns and curves. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.
