They've had this issue for years. Supposedly, they were putting safeguards in place to avoid these occurrences. That was back in I think about 2017. Clearly they've decided they don't give a F and are allowing the counterfeits to circulate. I'm sorry this happened to you, Brittany! 😢

Ironically those fake Diors did look well made in that the toe sits flat - meaning when you put the shoe on a table does the tip of the shoe curl up or is the entire toe of the shoe flat on the table. All Manolo Blahnik shoes sit fully flat on a table, and he has said it’s more difficult and more expensive to make shoes that way, but it’s the only way he’ll make his shoes. Once I found out that hint, I can tell if any shoe is well made by using that same test. Those fake Dior pumps (court shoes) sure looked like the toe was flat so I’ll give them that. But the stitching on the inside is a good sign in the real Dior shoes, most brands don’t sew the sole onto pumps, only boots, so the fact that they’re sewing the soles on is impressive. I agree with Brittany that it’s education, get to know what real items from the brand look and feel like, that’s what you want to always see. Plus be reasonable if you want authentic, a used Louis Vuitton bag in a usable condition is going to be at least $1000, and a used Chanel bag in usable condition is going to be several thousand these days. If you find a high end designer bag for a couple hundred dollars it’s either fake or it’s ruined.

Manolo Bhlanik is a very well made and sensible brand. I have several pairs of their classic pumps and they are very comfortable. Also, that’s really bad for the reputation of the Real Real because they are supposed to check the authenticity of the product before accepting it to sell.

The amount of attention they put into making fakes, they could put the money towards creating a new shoe brand to compete with high end. Sort of a medium end pump & sandal! You’re just going to return those! One thing, Brittany, if you make a video on the most comfortable, make sure they’re all really your size. Or it won’t be a fair comparison. I've bought a fake from The Real Real...they tried to Ghost me and I pursued them until they finally gave in.and credited me.I only found out a few laters when I was selling a designer bag and it was pulled up as fake-I was clueless until then.Then they said it was past the return window! It was a very unique bag so there was no question it was my order.Not impressed with them and I have spent a lot with them.

Dupers always fail at replicating the hardware. The metal is unevenly colored or off-color (ie the gold is too yellow), the metal logos are a bit off and zippers don't pull smoothly.

Just a correction, the star is for newer models. There are a lot of older models that have CD either imprinted on the sole or like the one you think is fake. That it itself is not unexpected with some models.

I've always heard it was a little suspect, so I would be careful what I ordered. But I was surprised at the amount of Dior dupes on there though, at least when it comes to shoes. You'll even notice how they price the real stuff a bit higher than the fake stuff, unless it's really worn like the gold shoes I got later. But those shoes were well-constructed, but obviously fake. There is a huge market for dupes/ not authentic items and they do not have to be expensive designer items. Resellers have "teams" of people who buy up real items online when they are on sale and then turn around and resell them on third party sites at full price. ( which can explain sadly, why you the regular buyer can't get the item on a company website/ it's quickly OOS ) Dupes can then be returned to the company in the actual packaging they received the real ones in and these items can actually end back in the warehouse. An actual customer could end up with a dupe without knowing it. Making a dupe of lower end designer brands or items can work with the same assumption....... who is going to question duping this? They can and will sadly. I can suggest that the inside packaging may have changed for items originally sold during 2020-21 because of the lockdown and changes to materials and shipping/ packaging. Some designer bag companies will only offer to try and authenticate an item by bringing it in a store as they need to actually see the item in person. I'm sorry that you got a duped pair.

Umm, a few issues with your video. From a longtime Dior collector, you realize that when a design house changes its Creative Director many aspects of design, including packaging, such as dust bags and logos will change. The red pumps which you bought were actually a legitimate Dior pair and from the Raf Simmons era circa 2012-2015. Most, if not all shoes during Maria Grazia Chiuri’s tenure with the house (starting in 2016), started to manufacture their shoes to include the two canvas bags (during Raf’s and Galliano’s time all pairs included only one flannel bag), star on the breast of the heel, and vertical print of ‘Christian Dior’. The gold pair and those black flats are obviously from Maria Grazia’s current tenure who incorporated the gold star on her shoes to honor Christian Dior’s proclivity for lucky symbols. I’m not defending The Real Real, as they are known to pass through quite a few imposters. However, you’re quite incorrect about the red Dior shoes being a counterfeit. I could tell right away they were a real pair-the stitching on the insole is pristine and the lines of the shoes are impeccable. FYI, when Raf Simmons took over as the Dior Creative Director from John Galliano, Simmons’ team also made many changes to Dior accessories.
