From what I understand that I heard of 2860 she needs a heavy overhaul to return the service her boiler certification ran out in 2009

@@JACESOFFICIAL I wouldn’t say never! just needs to be cash available to do it! Look at 4014 for decades people said that a 4000 would never turn A wheel under steam again! So it is very possible for 2860 to return to steam again!

Branyon, the answer is probably never because 2860's drive wheels are worn out and will cost nearly 1 million dollars to repair Even if they were fixed there are no tracks to run on. Neither the CPR of the CNR will allow the locomotive on their tracks. The only railroad which will allow the Royal Hudson on their tracks is the Burlington Northern but that is only from Vancouver to Whiterock. (answer by Dave Baker himself)
