This is my favorite royal hunt song. Of course John west is Amazing but i think this is also i good version. No doubt that mark has insane voice and can still hit all those super high notes

My first feeling about Royal Hunt was based on your voice in "The principles of Paradox" and further. I dont even want to know another "Royal hunt" - it still remains as great music with Boals vocal.

I like this version much more than John West's. However, I have a question to John West fans, as I am definitely a John West fan. There appears to be two John Wests- The John West that sings for Artension and his own solo albums, and then the John West that sings for anyone else. They sound like two totally different singers. I'm crazy about the John West with Artention and his own band, but when he sings with anyone else, he doesn't sound like himself and he leaves me cold. Does anyone have any info on this? Again, if you just know John West from Royal Hunt, listen to him on Artention Phoenix Rising, or his solo album Mind Journey, and you will hear a drastically different singer. Anyone know? Thanks.

Hey, i know what you mean, i think his voice changed after he had problems with his throat or something around 2005. If you listen to Artensions 2005: Future World, he had not fully recovered but was forced to do the album anyway(what i've read in a interview)his voice sounds very weak. On RH paper blood album ~2006 you hear a difference too. I do think he was at his best from Fear up to paper blood and The mission and The Watchers albums noone comes close to that voice. Cheers!

It's indeed the same guy, but he definitely adopted a much cleaner style around the time he joined Royal Hunt. But there's definitely some of that gritty edge to his voice in a few of his newer projects--the Emir Hot "Sevdah Metal" album and the recent Deezl "Ignite" album definitely get back in that vein. Also I'd recommend checking out his performance on Cozy Powell's "Especially For You," which is earlier but perhaps even more powerful than Phoenix Rising in places.

I've listen all songs and discs with John West. You should understand something. He is trying himself in verious styles. For me he was the best in Royal Hunt. DC is not so cool. But all another works of John is not so great.
