Lee has every right to feel a very proud Dad - a moving moment seeing him present that much valued and hard-earned beret to his son. Best wishes to both of them.

"... When my leg fell off..." sounds a bit along the lines ".. t'is but a flesh wound...". Thank you for your service, and by extension, thank you to your son for his service to Queen and Country. While some may not value what you and your's do, have done, and will continue to do, there are others out here who do appreciate all of this, and are thankful for it.

This touched my heart I d not usually put my foot down but insisted my Husband at time find his son and write some letters. My step son was ina war zone And I had never met him but I insisted he had his son's date of birth and social number my husband served in same branch as I but we met whe we were out as we call it over eight years, and He found him I wanted father and son to have an oppertunity to try to build a bridge and starte a conversation This failed but I was hoping they could leave the past i past and at least talk once in awhile as Dads. There comes a time As I to am a miliatry vet we have to confrount the past and try to help peaple get back with family memebers or friends. One time at a reunion of my school I brought a picture with two copies over two grilfriends I know in my highschool and had them both laugh and make up over a boy the found out they were both seeing. I said listen neither of you stayed with him and your were friends over four years could you try to talk this out they at once hugged each other and cried. I head they are still friends so i do good for my mates who broke there friendship over a male rival. He is not here you both are and loved each other like sisters they even hugged me also.

Like father like son. A pity they didn’t manage to break the circle and the son got to do something of value. You would have thought that after what happened to his dad that would have been a wakeup call for most people. Tragic.

Disrespectful of the service those brave soul and those who paid the ultimate price. Do something of value? Them serving have more value than you being alive.
@marchonore3 жыл бұрын
@@PB-hr3hy Absolutely right. I have zero respect for their choices. Service? For who? As a government paid enforcer and professional killer? Please. The British armed forces always mop up poor relatively uneducated flotsam and send them off to do the dirty on vulnerable people in third world countries around the world. The really dangerous jobs like mine and IED clearing always go to the cannon fodder from the former colonies like Fiji and Nepal. I have far more respect for anyone who - despite being poor and uneducated - avoids taking the easy way out by joining the army. There’s far more honour in staying poor and not laying waste to some other poor country. Unfortunately the British have a long and vainglorious history of bombing the bejeezus out of other people.
