the very last part confused me. from what i gathered was "SY 16 96 1 4". i was following what he said, then decides to swap the 1 over, so it looks like "SY 161 964" is that just an easier way to pin point on the map? i havent gotten accepted into training, and im just wanting to learn

The are separated into Eastings and Northings for example SY - 161 (Easting) 943 (Northing)

@@hoshthemosh5701 just line up the romer with the values 1 (easting) and 4 (northing)

@@hoshthemosh5701 Once you're sufficiently familiar with OS maps you'll be able to do it without a romer (I did in this example). Likewise things such as contour lines - bunched together steep, far apart level - so that you can envision the whole landscape in the dark, or without even going there. Hope you get lots of use out of yours.

Lemon Your not dumb. In school and on DoFE you do it the other way round to the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

@@simonhool3073 with the standard being vert=northing/hor=easting, do you know the reason the easting and northing are switched for RM/RN? cant find online

@@iwanttoliveinthewoods They're not switched - this video just presented it weird; it's exactly the same map, referenced in exactly the same way. "Along the corridor and up the lift" as I once heard it described.

Game daily ? Why do you need a map when apparently you game daily?
