Never had oxygen bottles when i did this in 90s with the RN. Its not pleasant at all but glad i did it.

We didn't get bottles in the dunker it was pure breath holding. Maybe they changed it but early 91 the whole SMAC course wasn't given them.

I went through CTCRM in '89 and when we did the drills we used the UBAs. Maybe we did different things, we did 6 submersions finishing with the roll over in the dark 🤷🏻♂️

@@JammyDodger45 yeah same mate built up to a full dark rollover . It was horrendous . Wasn’t comfortable with it but they never gave us air. I know that cos I was like a fish out of water lol

@@ASDonohoe - it was a definite bottle test. I went back and did it about 8yrs later when I was on JADTEU and even though it was the same it was an absolute breeze and a good laugh at times. I guess it's down to the difference in how they treat recruits/trainees versus trained Troops.
