A little correction on Prince Albert of Monaco. The story goes that he met swimmer Charlene Wittstock at a swim competition in Monaco in 2000, but it was brief. He then had an illegitimate son with an Air France flight attendant from Togo in 2003. When Prince Albert's father died in 2005 and he came to the throne, Charlene contacted Albert again to send her condolences and they started dating. In the 2006 Olympics in Torino, Italy, she went as his date, which is the photo you showed of them in winter clothes watching the games and smiling. She never made it to any more Olympics as an athlete but did become Albert's girlfriend, undergoing lots of dental work and plastic surgery, and getting married in 2011. Their twins were born in 2014 and they all attended the opening ceremony in Paris 2024. Albert has a large collection of all the Olympic flame holders for the past few decades, and he puts them on free exhibition in Monaco or the host city at each Olympic games. He & Charlene were two of the many flame carriers when the flame passed through Monaco earlier this month.

Gotta say, let Hubertus compete until his back or knees say Enough. He's not exactly taking anyone's spot while representing Mexico. Dude's having fun, maybe a little too much padding in the middle, but he's pretty much the "regular guy" in there, against peak-condition athletes.

Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg is tecnically not princess of Denmark but of Berleburg. Her father was prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg. That is where she gets her title from even though her mother is princess of Denmark. Titles are not inherieted through the female line.

A lot of people criticize our french ceremony.... But a lot of us are proud of it despite our catastrophic political situation.... And of course I didn't like everything but in general I thought there was beautiful, even with the rain.... A lot of things are very great (the Eiffel tower, the boats with the countries, our Olympic flame etc ..... And of course Céline Dion .... I thought that in general people were happy... We can't please everybody but it was a beautiful Olympic ceremony ❤

You should be proud of your opening ceremony. There were a few things I disliked, but mostly it was the best opening ceremony I have ever watched. So many firsts that to me were incredible. The athletes arriving in boats, the cauldron being lit in a balloon, the Eiffel Tower light show, the mechanical horse riding on the water and then the beautiful white horse continuing on land and so many more. The highlight for me was Celine Dion. She was magnificent! I am also a very proud Canadian. Job well done France!

I have visited London 2012 Olympics for my own personal adventures , and I have recently returned from visited the Paris 2024 Olympics because I studied French language as well. I have visited Helsinki, Finland in 2016 and Munich, Bavaria and Innsbruck , and passed by Garmisch in the Bavarian Alps by Train. my goal is to visit all modern Olympic sites in my life. Video content like your continues to inspire my advntures. It’s almost like money gives one the ability to pursue excellence by being free to devote most of their life to an impractical activity. Simone Biles was adopted out of a bad situation that would have never afforded her the opportunity to dominate - black women have been socioeconomically been shut out of expensive things like gymnastics and ballet and the first few generations to compete are of course crushing it. Lots of people would break records if money were no object. Things like running, which require no special equipment nor fancy trainers are the most egalitarian representation of excellence. You learned really fast how poor you are when you meet the university swim team that had pools on their high-school campus. Lacross? Field hockey? Dressage/equestrian? It’s already too late to get good at the things you just learned about - from being born in the wrong zipcode.

It's Duke Georg Alexander of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, whose mother was a granddaughter of Tsar Paul. He and his brother who is just next to him, also wearing glasses, often spent time in Russia, so the photo is of them with their Romanov relatives. If you google him, you can see photos of him but he's not wearing sunglasses, they're just regular glasses, or more specifically, a Pince-nez.
