Actually it was built in the early 60s (not 1950 as you mentioned). It was originally the Loews Americana Hotel then it became the Palace Hotel and later on it was the Sands Hotel before becoming the Intercontinental Hotel…

Were those cabanas or the club rooms? Is the pool big enough for busy season (i.e. Christmas week)?

The pool is big, but the beach is about 50 yards behind it, so the pool wasn't too crowded, I stayed here for 7 days in the beginning of May. The only issue I had was the pool menu prices, $26 for a cheeseburger is ridiculous

The pool was very large! And the beach was as well, so I'd say plenty of room for everyone.

Is ugly.. No casino there.? I will stay in El san Juan Fairmont hotel.. La concha hotel is beautiful and marriott stellari hotel in the condado

When it was the Intercontinental it had one, not sure about now though!
