In today's episode we have come to a newly opened restaurant Araabaik to indulge in some Arabic delicacies. The cosy vibe of the place makes you feel at ease. Here we met the young, genial and dynamic owner Abuzar who guided us through the vision and inspiration behind it and also introduced us to the eclectic menu. He recommended us to try the mutton mandi, chicken kabsa, shish tawook, Bhurj Dajaj and kunafa. As the spread was laid out on the table, the first thing that attracted our attention was the riot of colours. This was followed by comforting fragrances of spices, meat, butter, rice and breads. Abusar took us through the details of these Middle Eastern dishes. The mandi was mildly fragrant but very satisfying. On the other hand the Kabsa was smoky, spicy and robust. Shish tawook made of skewer grilled chicken and burj dajaj made with chargrilled chicken and garlic sauce were absolutely toothsome. But the star of this spread was the hot and luscious kunafa. The gooey cheese filling, the crisp crust and the fragrant syrup made it irresistible. One just just can't stop till the whole thing gets over. Overall we loved the food and the vibe of this place.
