Royal Teeth - Heartbeats (Knife Cover) | Live @ JBTV

Indie pop band Royal Teeth visited JBTV's studios to share their rendition of Heartbeats, originally by The Knife. Bringing a slower, more serious tone to their usual upbeat sound, their cover of Heartbeats features several drums that bring even more power to the song and support Nora Patterson's unique voice.
Formed in 2010, Royal Teeth unites Gary Larsen (vocals/guitar), Nora Patterson (vocals), Josh Wells (bass), Josh Hefner (drums), and Thomas Onebane (guitar), creating a group that rocks the indie pop genre. The group's goal: have fun. These Louisiana natives embrace their youth, singing of the endless opportunities that the world has to offer. Currently under Elektra Records, the group has released an EP titled "Act Naturally," as well as their full-length album "Glow." Over the years, Royal Teeth has garnered a large fan base while completing several U.S. tours and after performing on Season 13 of American Idol.

That is utter fucking quality your take on the Knife track. The original is powerful, but fuck, you lot kick the granny outta it!!!! Fucking blinding cover. Fuck shitty slipknot and they're crap. That lad singing was hitting that floor tom like it was going outta fashion!!!! And I'm a drummer!!! Sheer fucking quality here...great vocals and fantastic band behind it. The singer reminds me a lot of Rachel McAdams and Kate Mara and oddly enough whenever those women have long hair they always seem to wear it in the same way with that huge fringe. I guess they must all belong to the same species of woman, North-American Longhair?

No the original is by the Knife from the Deep Cuts album released in 2003. Gonzales covered it, Sony licensed his version in 2005-06 for the Sony Bravia bouncing balls ad. ( The Knife wasn't too thrilled, but they could use the money. ) Then they, ( ht kenife) produced a live version in 2006 and that is the version, this cover is based on.
