Successes? You mean living a certain number of years? It still seemed quite one sided. Margarethe II constantly spoke of how wonderful EIIR was but I'm not sure that was ever reciprocated and I certainly don't recall Elizabeth II ever being in Denmark. Maybe in the 50s? or 1970s? But thats certainly not what I'd call a closeness. I love E II R but comparing her to Margarette II makes her look uptight.

Mary had to learn to speak and read the Danish language prior to her engagement to Prince Frederick. There is a lovely video of her giving a speech in Danish (with a sprinkling of English) at her husband’s 50th birthday celebration. Princess Mary and Prince Frederick and their children do come back to Australia to visit Mary’s family, most recently in December 2022.

Both Camilla and Catherine had to learn a totally different way of life and both ladies have come out on top. Camilla was hounded by the public and called some atrocious names but she kept her head down and just got on with it and now she’s our Queen and by all accounts she makes our king a much happier man. Catherine was also called names but like Queen Camilla she learned the job and has come out on top. Well done to both ladies long live the king

What I wouldn't give to be able to go through the wardrobes of both women! They both have impeccable taste and style, whilst understanding how to dress in a manner which suits their roles within each of their Monarchies. Since this video was made, much has changed. In only ten days, Frederik and Mary will become the new King and Queen of Denmark, whilst their eldest son Christian will become the Crown Prince and Regent. It's more fascinating, in my opinion, that Mary met Frederik, as he was only visiting Australia during the Olympics. I'm glad that Catherine will have Mary to guide her, especially when it comes time for her to become Queen. Despite their birthdays being only four days apart, they have ten years between them with Mary being the elder. They have much in common and both couples seem to get on quite well. Instead of comparing outfits, it's nicer to compliment each on their own taste in fashion. Copying what another wears is only something that the ex-royal back in the US prides itself on, not these two beautiful women.🇦🇺
