LTA was imo a perfect fit for everyone in it and it sucks that we won't be getting any more music from them.

To break it down: Giving something a run for it's money usually means you competed well in a contest/game/sport and made it difficult for the winner to succeed. It started in horse racing originally! In a general way it's used sometimes to mean that you gave something a lot of effort/force. In this context it's about hurting his hand from punching the mirror, so his knuckles are injured but still intact. The "spider web cracks" on the mirror is referring to the cracks from punching it. I hope this helps! I'm happy to try and explain other lines if anyone wants :)

I don't know what it is about the 3:23-3:26 section, but I get goosebumps from that part of the music video each time. The nodding in sync with the beat, the lighting, and Mike's bloody face just all come together to make a visually gritty and appealing moment. Trust me, I love the entire video, especially the use of the loop that reminds me all too much of "Seven Nation Army," but that one little section makes me so happy.

In 2014, I read an interview with Jimmy Page where he mentioned this band as one of the "new" bands who he really thought were great. Royal Blood was the only band he mentioned. I bought their debut the next day. Their 3rd album does not disappoint. The vinyl pressing from Germany sounds crazy good.
