William and Kate greet stars at Earthshot Prize in Boston

Prince William and Kate have concluded their visit to Boston by attending the The Earthshot Prize awards ceremony. The royal couple greeted stars including David Beckham, Rami Malek, Ellie Goulding, Annie Lennox, Catherine O'Hara, Chloe and Halle Bailey.
The event recognises five winners each year for their contributions to solving environmental problems, awarding them with a £1m grant to support their work.

Being a Naturalized American, born in the British Province of Newfoundland, I was proud to have Elizabeth as my Queen. We have 8 mm movies of my mother and aunt rowing on Quidi Vidi pond for the Queen's visit in the mid-50s. My father was stationed on the USAF Air Base. Pepperelle, in St. John's--he was US Strategic Air Command: the Mighty 8th Air Force. Although the base closed in 1960, I am still born under the Queen, God Bless her passing. Catherine and William are humble and follow the Royal traditions. May they continue to lead and prosper.

This awards presentation really excited the eco-warriors. Tonight ,opened up dialects about the creativity and plans that are successfully being used . And that people of all ages can do this and be encouraged to do something no matter how big or small. This program is a big success, in every way. One teacher,was so charged to start creating more opportunities to show her students working together can create change! Ellie Goulding is doing a great work in prompting the music industry to move towards more eco friendly ways, her last UK Tour was powered by green energy & transport, also this year it's being speculated that her upcoming big world tour got canceled due to a fight with her record label as they weren't ready to bear the additional expenses of any green tour. She is also an UN Goodwill Ambassador and this year she got honored with UN Humanitarian Award & also urprisingly she was also Prince William & Princess Kate's wedding singer. So happy to see her there.

We don’t often speak about Catherine’s Mom and Dad. They have to be over the moon with the success of Earthshot .William and Catherine looked very happy and pleased by the excitement about Earthshot. Mike and Carol did raise a great family, plus 6 grandkids to enjoy. But they also must be anxious,about how the Royals are under constant attack ,it seems. William and Catherine are a tribute to the Royals and all the Commonwealth. And to the Middletons!

They do not receive a wage; only the Monarch and his or her spouse do - and they pay all their taxes. The only time their expenses are paid is when they are on a State Visit - and this one wasn't as it was Prince William's brainchild for a better, safer and greener world. The true 'working Royals' give Awards to others and meet and greet for free!!!

The Sovereign Grant covers the Monarchs official business (not his charities) which enable The King to discharge his duties as Head of State; it meets the central staff costs and running expenses of official receptions for visiting Heads of State; maintenance of the English Royal Palaces; and the travel costs when carrying out Royal engagements. IN EXCHANGE for this public support The King surrenders ALL of the revenue from the Crown Estate to the Government - which over the past decade amounted to £3 billion which is used for public spending! The Sovereign Grant works out at LESS than £2 per UK household. The Monarch is not legally liable to pay Income Tax but they pay this voluntarily as well as capital gains tax and inheritance tax. They travel by public train - at no interruption to the public, fly by commercial flights or the RAF and this is covered by the Sovereign Grant if it is official business and not a holiday.
