If I remember correctly Eugenie and Jack announced their engagement before H&M and they had to postpone their wedding date because of H&M. In all probability Princess Eugenie had also made her tiara pick before Meghan which was the emerald one. After having postponed her wedding, why should Eugenie give up on the tiara as well? The fact The Queen and Prince Phillip... Presented their 2nd Daughter in law Sarah...with her own Tiara and was never seen in a Royal Tiara of significance could be described as Telling ? Either way...Sarah has never had to hand back the Tiara...Unlike the ones Princess Diana had access too as she wasn't presented with one of her own...The reason being...Diana had access to more than one " Spencer Family Tiara". The Queen and Prince Phillip never presented their 3rd Daughter in Law Sophie Reese-Jones with a New Tiara !! is very sad... Sophie was presented with a cobbled together mess of a tiara...which I'm told has now been redesigned and improved upon plus she has since been presented with two rather nice Tiaras exclusively for her use. ...I've not see the "Improved Tiara" So cant comment. BUT the original that she wore on her wedding day Was Shamefully Poor!!

@@margaretschembridalli5218 Also, everyone was saying the tiara in question was "Russian" in origin. The one Eugenie wore isn't Russian, it's the Greville Emerald tiara. I've said this before, but it bears mentioning again. I am convinced Meghan wanted the Vladimir. It is very grand, and a narcissist would be attracted to it. But the real reason I believe this is because she was denied the Vladimir due to the uncertainty of provenance. Had she wanted the kokoshnik, and its provenance was uncertain, Eugenie would not have been allowed to wear it either. Megaliar wanted the Vladimir.
@rubybuttons6684 ай бұрын
I agree. I remember them saying in the media at the time that Meghan was denied, or changed, her tiara because they could not confirm it’s provenance and she wanted one with emeralds. The Vladimir would make sense because her dress was so boring I can see her wanting it that way so all the focus was on her face and a massive tiara lol

As 2024 began, we expected to see Catherine wear a tiara in June for the State banquet for the Emperor and Empress of Japan. Now that she is taking chemo treatments, I doubt that will happen but maybe she will be strong enough to attend the Annual Diplomatic Reception in early December. The tiara I’m really hoping to see her wear someday is one that Princess Margaret used to wear, featuring a HUGE central sapphire. It hasn’t been seen in decades and its whereabouts are a mystery. It would go so beautifully with the sapphire jewelry Diana wore frequently.

I hope you can find a colour photo of Princess Margaret wearing it. I can imagine how it would highlight her blue eyes. It would be such a shame if it was sold for death duties. It's my belief that Eugenie had already asked the late queen if she could wear the emerald tiara, and the queen had agreed. Then MM comes in and demands to wear the same tiara. The queen told her no, because it was already promised to Eugenie, a blood princess. That's when MM threw her temper tantrum. I would LOVE to see Queen Mary's Sapphire Bandeau on Catherine! It would look AMAZING on her, with her engagement ring! I love the Boucheron Loop that Princess Ingrid has begun wearing. It's beautiful. There's a fertility crisis now for women over 25; difficult to get/stay pregnant, so having to delay one's plans for pregnancy, for a grifter to bag her royal husband -- is really a sin. I wouldn't attach any credence to whatever was claimed in "Waaagh!" - consider the response from HLM QEII, "Meghan gets what tiara I give her", to Harry's livid, "What Meghan wants, Meghan gets!"... That would certainly indicate that Meghan had wanted a specific tiara (i.e. not one being presented as 'a selection to choose from') and was told she had to accept the one that was offered because it was HLM's choice. Just to confirm the point, wasn't there also the claim that HLM had "praised Meghan for her choice because she had good taste"?! [I can hardly write this without gagging.]

The late Queen Mother is said to have been far from enamoured with Camilla - right up until she passed away in 2002, and was known to have said some rather unkind things about her. Indeed, Charles had to wait until after she had passed in order to marry her. I think she would roll over in her grave to know that Camilla took to wearing her two most-favoured Tiaras, being the Delhi Durbar Tiara and the Boucheron Honeycomb Tiara (aka the Greville Tiara, on account that it was bequeathed to the Queen Mother by Margaret Greville upon her passing). But they both look so lovely on Camilla who wears them both beautifully. The two women have similar size heads & fluffy grey hair - so it seems natural that both would gravitate toward the largest pieces in the collection. And these were the two most-favoured Tiaras offered to Camilla as the Duchess of Cornwall. But now that she is Queen Camilla, she has first choice of all of them - and it's been wonderful seeing her break open the vaults and wearing some of the biggest and best of them - including the Burmese Ruby Tiara, the Sapphire Tiara, the Diamond & Sapphire Tiara - all of which suit her perfectly. Queen Elizabeth had her own favourites including The Girls of Gt Britain & Ireland Tiara - which Camilla has also worn on at least one occasion, but she still seems to favour the Boucheron.. and I think it will be some time before the Queen's favoured Vladimir makes another appearance. I think the fabulous coloured Gemstone Tiaras suit Camilla best of all due to her light colouring. But I also think that, like Queen Elizabeth II's favourite choices of head-pieces, it comes down what is most comfortable for each individual to wear, and how long it's expected they will be wearing them. Also, an all-diamond Tiara like the Boucheron can be worn with any colour gown. I'd really love to see Catherine wearing more of the coloured Gemstone Tiaras & matching jewels now that she's the Princess of Wales!

If you look at the colours flashing in the tiara Meg wore, you can tell they're not diamond but crystal. Quality Diamonds do have a 'fire' to them - but they don't flash every colour of the rainbow like her Tiara did! My first thought was CRYSTALS! And if the Queen gave her a crystal replica, it's because she didn't trust her. And rightly so - especially after the way she behaved from the first day she turned up at NotCot with her suitcase, DEMANDING that she be accorded exactly the same privileges and status as Catherine! The rumours continue 6 years later that the Diamond Cartier 'Reflections' bracelet loaned to Megz by the Queen from her own personal collection, reportedly valued at £241,000, and which she is seen wearing to the wedding reception - IS STILL MISSING - along with the matching Diamond Cartier Reflections earrings! Reports stated that Megz said that she'd 'lost' them. All we know is that the Late Queen's dresser said that they were still missing at the time of her retirement after the Queen's passing - and they were last seen on the body of Harry's wife. These stories don't come from nowhere! There's always an element of truth to these leaked reports, but unless the Palace pursues the whereabouts of the jewellery and/or publicly embarrasses Meg - we'll likely never hear any more about it. It's just another thing that she got away with!

@j.whiteoak6408 After QEII passed, her beloved dresser, Angela Kelly was in danger of losing her lodgings that QEII wanted her to have. Charles essentially bartered with Angela: you don't write anything more about QEII, and I'll see to it that the rest of your days you'll live in comfort. So, Angela agreed. HOWEVER, I am HOPING that she's quietly writing her memoir that EXPOSES the Narkle & Hasnoballs, and their outrageous behavior! Write the book NOW, Angela, and arrange for post-death publication!!! You owe it to the Queen who couldn't speak out, and you definitely owe it to the taxpayers of the UK AND the USA. PLEASE WRITE IT! Remember, Princess Diana said certain tiaras were so heavy they gave her headaches. I would definitely choose the small tiara over the big, important, expensive one. Queen Silvia's tiara is not the 'Brazanga' tiara. It's the Bragança tiara, which is the surname of the Brazilian-Portuguese Imperial Royal Family in those times. It was a present to Amelia, Pedro I second wife, which was not considered 'so royal' by many royal houses in Europe, because her ancestors were not exactly royals. She was Napoleon's granddaughter and not even by blood, because when Napoleon married Josephine she was a widow and already had a son whom would be Amelia's father and he was adopted as a son by Napoleon. That kind of 'royal' was the only royal Pedro I, the emperor of Brazil could 'afford' to marry, since no royal in Europe would accept to marry him after what had happened to the empress Leopoldine of Austria, who married him, fell in love with him and suffered a lot because of the prince's unfaithful sexual adventures, to the point that many started saying she had died of sadness. It's also said that for a second wife Pedro demanded that this one must be pretty. Amelia indeed was pretty and very young and to impress her Pedro gifted her with that splendorous tiara today worn by Queen Silvia, who happens to be, coincidently, the daughter of a Brazilian.

Interesting detail: the daughter-in - law of the ruling prince of Liechtenstein, thw wife of his heir is a Royal Highness in her own right - she was a princess of Bavaria, remotely related to Empress Elisabeth of Austria ( yes, Sissi).

Quickly, btw. Princess Anne wore the Cartier Halo Tiara before she was married. Like you said, blood royal daughters wear tiaras before they are married. By the time they are 18 years for sure. But, it seems that could be by 17 yrs too. I think King George IV gave Queen Elizabeth II her first tiara at 17 years. I m not sure. And of course, the English Aristocracy had certain etiquette rules in place for ages too. (Whatever they were/are, I m uncertain; can be researched of course. 🥰👍). 👍🥰👍🥰

Brittany, I love you and I love both your channels. So please forgive me and allow me to correct a few things. 1. You always say the Brazanga tiara. Please read the name carefully. It’s Braganza. And, if you really want to know, it’s originally Bragança, the Portuguese royal family. The tiara was commanded by Peter I of Brazil, formerly a Portuguese colony, and he was its first emperor. He was also King Peter IV of Portugal. 2. The “shire” in the names of the English counties pronunciation: it’s always “sher”. Yorksher, Devonsher, etc. And there are a few tricky ones, like Berkshire - it’s read Barksher. Preferably “Baaksher” the first r completely silent, the second almost silent, like in all the other counties. I’m Portuguese, English is not even my first language, but I know this. English names have funny things. For instance: Belvoir Castle, the seat of the Dukes of Rutland, is read Beaver. Beauchamp Place is read Beecham. Leicester is read Lester. Etc. I sincerely hope you don’t mind these small corrections. Love from Portugal. 🇵🇹❤️

The tiara Princess Catherine wore at her wedding might have looked more impressive in person, but I think the tiara Meghan was given was much more impressive in the photos and videos I’ve seen. (Catherine’s tiara, appears to get lost in the appearance of the hair and veil.) Maybe she wanted the one Eugenie was lent, but if I had been her, I would have loved wearing the tiara she wore.

Both those wedding tiaras were lovely IMHO.

Ingrid Alexandra was gifted the tiara by another branch of the family on her 18th birthday. It used to belong to one of her royal grand aunts; Princess Ragnhild. It was Ragnhild’s wish that Ingrid Alexandra be gifted the tiara who used to belong to her great-great grandmother Princess Ingrid on Ingrid Alexandra’s 18th birthday.

This is the best tiara video I've ever seen! It's interesting how the access to different tiaras is depending on the female royal's position in the family. Since the brits are the most closed off royal family, They very seldom worn different never before seen tiaras. But Emperor Noruhito and Empress Masako of Japan will visit the UK this summer, so it's interesting to see which tiara the empress will have on. The Royal family of Brunei, Jordan, Spain, and Japan are more interesting the UK because of the amount of news about them. Plus Crown Princess Rajwa Al Hussein of Jordan is a very interesting woman. Ever since her wedding with Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan I was waiting for more news about her, but she's focus on her pregnancy so I'll wait longer. I would for you to a video about the diamond scroll tiara. It's the most beautiful tiara I ever seen. I would love to see more tiaras from the Jordanians, Japanese, and Bruneians.

Thank you for this explanation. I am obsessed with tiaras too. But, Parure isn't pronounces , it's pronounced . The documentary about the Danish and Swedish jewels is great with the queens talking about the various diadems, including the Braganza. “De Kongelige Juveler” (roughly translated to ‘The Royal Jewels‘) is a wonderful documentary. I believe it is still on KZbin. And I, too, am so tired of Princess Sophia's Palmette Tiara with all those darn toppers. Lol.

There quite a few Houses of European Royalty that have some of the most impressive, expensive, spectacular Tiaras in the world. Some have extraordinary histories, some are younger created for special arrangements, occasions, lineage. Other than the Japanese, Jordan, Buthan, Malaysia and some other prestigious Asian Families/ Countries, some Indian families, the European Royal Families continue to connect to their historical traditions and sensibilities to their role of representatives to these jewelry heirlooms, (“caches”), and symbolic designations for important visual importance, stewardship, and identifying impressive traditional inheritance/lineages. Still a sense of Western identity in Europe, these traditions over many millennia. All interwoven between many alliances for centuries. So many exquisite jewels gathered over centuries, many taken from other countries under dubious circumstances but have become integral into that European identity. 👍🥰🤝💓

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Malignant only wore a tiara the once - for that spectacle. It must really rip her undies when she sees the lovely PoW wearing tiara and attending state occasions.

Regarding Princess Catherine's favorite being the Lover's Knot tiara, that tiara was also worn very frequently by Princess Diana. Possibly William likes to see his wife in that tiara, and it would recall the memory of Diana to many.

How is it that any tiara is "boring"? It is weird to think of a tiara in terms of being a "starter" or "big gun." 😂
@lemmysmolesmrs4 ай бұрын
It's the difference between walking around with a 1kg bag of sugar on your head(starter) , a 5kg bag (intermediate)and then a whopping sack (the big guns) You don't want to start with a whopping sack.🤕

Cool stuff, just one point - it's parure is pronounced pa-roo-er, not puree, which is what you do to fruit.

The Tiaras arent ' divid' out, there are strict rules and its up to the sovereign alone who wears them. For example, any girl in the royal family only gets the LOAN of one from the Royal collection on their wedding day and afterwards, and they have to be working royals,which is why the wife has only ever had one for the wedding and will never have the use of one again. ONLY the Queen gets to wear the Diadiem that our dear Queen wears on her official portraits. The Princess of Wales is the only one besides Camilla who can wear the Cambridge Tiara.

When the Narkle went to Fiji, I believe it was, she demanded a tiara to bring, to wear. It was reported that CHARLES shut THAT down! He said, nope! It wouldn't be appropriate... Considering all the reports of the Narkle's vile behavior, including "losing" priceless jewelry, perhaps Charles was ALSO afraid that any tiara that the Narkle got her claws on, would never be seen again by the Royal Family.

Camilla really favors the larger tiaras. I was very excited to see Catherine wear that Strathmore Rose tiara last year. Stunning
@reader4111Ай бұрын
Yes, some of Camilla's choices are too big, too broad. Not feminine looking; absurd to say about a TIARA, but it's true. The ones that look like they fit snugly on a basketball are too broad. Makes her head look oversized. The lady should wear the tiara; the tiara should NOT "wear the lady". Get my drift?
