Thanks, Neil, for another fascinating Hollywood story. What's interesting is that Debbie Reynolds should have been the most bitter and angry of the 3. She was abandoned and publicly humiliated when Eddie Fisher left her and their 2 children for Elizabeth Taylor. Yet she's the one who's the wisest and most forgiving. I believe her.

It is foolish to give up everything for a lover. It didn't work for Eddy Fisher and it is not working for Prince Harry. Love is meant to be reciprocal and about compromise. When love is one sided, eventually it falls apart.

Elizabeth Taylor was a stunning lady. Debbie was a classy lady also and very down to earth. She went on, afterwards, as Americas sweetheart, and her career flourished inspite of the scandal regarding Eddie. She talked about it quite often. His mistake was in marrying Elizabeth, and as a result, his career suffered. I'll take Debbie's version over anyone else's any day. I love the fact that you were so giddy in the video with Debbie. So cute, and you can tell you loved your job. Cheers!👋👋😁

Buffalo NY was having a huge bi-centennial and i was in it...one of the young pioneer girls, anyway, E and M were invited and they drove around the arena and i shook her hand!!! she was wearing a huge violet ring like the color of her eyes. what an event for me!!!!!! i agree that Debbie got the worst of it. i remember having cutout dolls of them and many pictures taped on my closet door. hope you are doing well.

My one and only connection to Debbie Reynolds was that I bought my childhood and teenage shoes from Karl's Shoes in Los Angeles. That firm was bad for Debbie as her then Husband's company went into bad shape and Debbie had to rescue the firm and pay the debts her husband accrued (is the story anyway).

🇭🇲🦘👋 How very interesting to know that Elizabeth Taylor had made those recordings, to not be released until at least 10 years after her death; and that now a documentary has been made, using those very recordings. This documentary must be quite fascinating to see and listen to, even though Elizabeth Taylor's views of her life (and her many loves) 'differ' from the views of others, like the wonderful Debbie Reynolds. It was also, lovely hearing what good friends the 'late' Elizabeth Taylor was with our dear 'late' Queen, and how the Queen sent her own doctor to see if he could be of assistance, when Elizabeth Taylor was so ill. A very kind gesture (and fascinating) to say the least! I am always amazed at all of the very interesting people who you have met (and interviewed) during your lifetime (so far) and as young as you are Neil 😉 😊 there will (no doubt) be many more to come! With even more stories from the future to share with us. Even though, you have still so many more to share - from the past. Which we all look forward to hearing about. Past, present, and future! Another wonderful treat - this video was! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 "Thank you" Neil xx 👔 ⭐👋

Elizabeth Taylor was beautiful and very famous. I will be interesting seeing a documentary about her. And, I loved Debbie Reynolds. One of her last roles was in the movie "Mother". She was a mother of two adult sons - it is marvelous! I also think that Debbie Reynolds was the real victim in that mess with Taylor and Fisher. And, he did give up a lot - his two children and a lovely wife who supported him.

Elizabeth Taylor was larger than life on screen, she seemed more than her actual height. (Since you met her up close, Neil, were her eyes really violet?? They seemed bluish in pics.) Adored Debbie Reynolds, a genuine talent and superstar!🥰 And the true victim, along with their very young children. It must have been devastating. Karma struck Eddie. Guess he didn't like reaping what he'd sown.

I enjoyed this video about Elizabeth Taylor. When I was a little girl I thought she was the most glamorous woman in the world. I agree with you, I think Debbie Reynolds was the person hurt the most when Eddie Fisher walked out on her and their children. And ultimately Debbie Reynolds had two unfortunate marriages to men who left her in severe financial straits. Yet despite the financial hardships she proved how resiliant she was. She was a real feminist.

I've found that if you're going to give something up for someone it needs to be worth it to you. No matter how close you were, are, or become people will never value the sacrifice like you do... they feel that if it was so important to you, you wouldn't have given it up. Elizabeth Taylor valued Eddie Fisher exactly as much as he demonstrated that he valued his family. Tough luck, Eddie.
