Any idea on why Quatrero continues to use Harvey as closer when Erceg has actually closed games before?
@Thunderman9992 ай бұрын
I have no idea, using him ahead of Bubic or Zerpa or Erceg or in any non blowout situation is a horrendous decision by Q
@robjohnson79302 ай бұрын
No idea whatsoever. The Royals were really lucky that the line drive went straight to Frasier. Every time Harvey has pitched for the Royals, he's looked bad. I'm very much hoping that he doesn't become the 2024 version of Brandon Maurer, who in 2017 and 2018 was used frequently in close games and blew it more often than not to a tune of about an 8 ERA.

Unfortunate they couldn't pull off a win. Outside of Shelby Miller's meltdown, I got to hear Marc Ryan's on the drive home pretty much calling out Hinch's poor decisions, Shelby (aka Shelldy)'s inability to close, and the Tiger's inability to make trades for immediate and necessary needs.

This series makes me appreciate jim leyland much much more. Not just because it was jim leyland weekend at the ballpark, but those teams were competitive and fun to watch, and the stadiums were packed every night. One thing I appreciate and always will about jim leyland is he always had his players backs, he always spoke his mind after the game, one thing you could never say about jim leyland is that he didn't care. Aj, after a game from his interview you wouldn't know if they won 10 to nothing or lost 10 to nothing.

@icedo10132 ай бұрын
You don't play that as if the ball is going to be caught in the air. In the overwhelmingly likely situation that a ball hit that hard gets past the shortstop, or hits the ground, you leave yourself lightyears behind the play for an easy flip to second. Thinking this way is the real little league stuff and is the reason you're here writing internet quips instead of actually coaching pro baseball.
