We usually say a cross the bay at hotel Rui Negril we have been 3 times since I have retired but not been back since covid we are hoping to go back again before the end of the the year it good to look at the place we can see from a distance thanks for showing use around

Thank you so much for this very informative video. We (me, my husband and daughter) have booked for this April and it is our first time at this hotel. We stayed at the Royalton Montego Bay but it was extremely windy (sandblasted every day and no sailing)! We selected the Diamond Club Junior Swim Up and only hope that we will get into Building 1 ..... Booking the swim up was to have a ground floor room as my husband has a lung disease and can't walk too far. We did, however, love the Presidential Suite you upgraded to and (as long as the lifts are working) are seriously thinking about it. Again, THANK YOU. From building 1 it is a bit of a walk to the main building and restaurants but it is a nice easy walk and no need for rushing. The other DC building is number 5 and has swimouts and Presidential suites so if walking to far is an issue you could always consider it, the only downside is you would have to stroll along the beach a bit to the DC beach area.

We would still book a swim up if we ever went back, the land crabs weren't that bad and we never had one on our terrace lol. You'll have a great time wherever you are on site.

Loved your video. Thinking of doing diamond club swim up, but want to be in building 1. What is the trick of getting building 1 because it looks like they have diamond club rooms in building 5 too and don't want to be there. Thank you.

Thanks for the comment Tim, building 5 is nearer the restaurants and entertainment but has a very small beach area. Building 1 is definitely your best bet, we just stuck to our guns and asked to be moved to building 1 as soon as a room became available.

Hi Kevin love the videos and this was 1 of the reason to book royalton negril. After some advise if possible please mate. Having booked hideaway Diamond club room with TUI for May 23. Hi Roy thanks for the comments 😀, unfortunately we weren't allowed to go near the DC Hideaway buildings, I do point them out when we walk out onto the small jetty in yhe video. I'm not sure what building number they are but they are very exclusive so not many rooms, they are probably the most expensive other than the President suites with their own pool. You won't need to pay for anything extra unless you order a large steak or lobster etc. The nice thing is you can use all Diamond club area's as a Hideaway guest where as just normal DC guests can't use the Hideaway area. I'm sure you are going to have a great time, have fun and I hope this info helps.

Booked to go in October in diamond club swim up room, do people swim the length of swim up? Great video supper helpful I I have a neurological disorder and am unable to talk so these videos help me so much so I know what to expect. Hi Ivan, as long as you get building 1 then all rooms are pretty quiet. For a better Ocean view the upper floors would be best.

Hi, thanks for the comment, we found they prefer dealing in US dollars, even the ATM machines gave them out. The WiFi is free and we didn't have any issues using it, even on the beach. Hope you have a great time.

Hi, thanks for the review! We’re staying here in May. We were looking at booking building 5 but like the look of building 1 now we’ve seen the review. We have a swim out suite, do any of the rooms get the sun at any time of the day in building 1? And which is the best room number for a good view. Thanks🙂

Hi Stephen, I believe the amount of sun that building 1 gets depends on the time of year you go, we went in August and the sun came over building 1 pretty early and set across the back of the Adults only section so we had sun for most of the day on our rooms, however earlier in the year some people say the sun stays behind the buildings well into the afternoon (not sure why), if you are in building 1 in a swim up all the rooms have roughly the same view, you will overlook the pool and bar area and if you stand on you terrace on your toes you can see the ocean. Building 5 you will see the ocean from your swim up in any of the rooms. Hope this helps and if you haven't already please subscribe to our channel, Thanks.

Thanks Stevie, There were a few issues whilst we were staying there but the resort is really nice (shame about some of the guests). The Broads will always hold a very special place in our hearts and one day we will hopefully return, please look after yourself and hopefully you will keep watching our videos.

Hi! We are going to this resort in May 2022 (20th anniversary). We are in Diamond Club, penthouse suite with the terrace pool. Looking at the resort map we thought room 2301 was perfect (I know you were in 2308 - so very similar). After your video I am contemplating moving us to building 1, room 1301 or 1308 , for the better Diamond Club experience. Thoughts? Your input is greatly appreciated!

Hi Paige, thanks for the question. If you get the opportunity to move then go for it, although 2308 was a great room we did feel a little bit away from the Diamond club vibe. Congratulations on your 20th anniversary and make sure you tell as many staff as possible for some extra treats. If you get Teon or Patrice as Butlers you won't be disappointed. Have a great time.

Thank you for an incredible video. We absolutely hate the extremely loud music most hotels play in the pool areas. Is the hideaway section quieter ? We are looking at a swim-out JS in the DC area. Hi Volker, we aren't sure about Hideaway DC as we never ventured over there but a couple we met kept coming over to our DC part as they said it was too loud and the beach was better. I hope this helps and maybe check out some other videos before committing to either of the DC's, don't forget to subscribe as we have two trips planned for this year.

Nice video. What’s put me off this place though is the number if times you both “Diamond Club”…I get the impression if your not part of the ‘Diamond club ‘ scene your in for a very ordinary Vacation and possibly disappointed?

Hi, thanks for the comment, we only stayed in the DC area so we couldn't give our opinion on the other area's. There is also adults only but we didn't have access to it. There are loads of videos available from this resort that may help you making a decision?

We aren't sure what the policy is, we did see some people buying " single cigarettes" for the beach sellers but to be fair we didn't really smell anything to suggest it is common place on the beach etc.

Hi, the presidential suites are situated on the top corners of the Diamond buildings, they do have a "jacuzzi tub" outside but ours was broken and the host said she didn't know they were a jacuzzi 😢.

When I looked at the website it says the penthouse has the jacuzzi outside and the presidential seem to have the jacuzzi inside. I saw a few video reviews like yours and 3 of the presidential suites had the jacuzzi outside and a few didn’t. I just want to make sure I have that. It looks amazing! Hi Jane, who did you book with. We booked with TUI and had to really change dates etc for DC, the president suite was really expensive but DC was only a few££ more, more for a swim up though. Don't forget this was our 25th wedding anniversary so we had planned and saved for about two years. Try your luck when you get there and maybe you can grab a bargain 😉, please make sure to subscribe to our channel as we will have more videos coming up. Hi ,thanks for the question, It is a really difficult one to answer as everyone we spoke to there had a different experience with Diamond club. For us it was really worth the extra money as our Hosts were incredible and were there for us every moment of the day, however if you get a host that doesn't bother to contact you or find you then it is a bit of a let down. The other issue is the DC beach, when we were there we were surprised by the amount of non DC guests who just walked into the DC area and and used the equipment which did P**s us off a bit. Just remember if you do decided to upgrade to DC the real DC buildings are 1 and 5, all other buildings aren't the true DC, sorry we can't be of more help but I'm sure you will enjoy yourself whatever you choose to do.

What's the practical difference between visiting in Negril compared to Montego Bay, especially for older folks?

Hi again, we never went to Montego bay so we wouldn't be able to give you an honest opinion on this subject, the only thing we know is there is more to see and do on the northern part of the island compared to Negril

Hi J, thanks for your questions. I think all of the Penthouses have good views but If you are Diamond Club I would still suggest either building 1 or 5. Unfortunately they didn't manage to get the hot tub part of the pool working, but I did see it on for a few seconds before the pump blew out again.

Hi sk.3551 thanks for the comment, buildings 1 and 5 are the true Diamond club sections, however when they are full they will put you in building 2 which isn't and the difference in the rooms is clear. Hope this helps.

HI Scot, If the Royalton website still allows for room bookings try that first, then at least you can say you booked it already when you first get there. Apart from that just keep on at them daily until they put you in building 1, sorry we couldn't give anymore info than that, hope you have a time and you're really going to love the beach and sea.

Hi, we tipped between $500 JMD and $1000 JMD (about £2.50 to £5) for the beach servers and Cabana hosts. In the restaurants we tipped $2000 JMD if we had really good service (wasn't always the case though). We didn't actually leave the resort so I'm not sure what they expect but it's probably going to be roughly the same.

Hi, thanks for your questions. Best block for see view is block 5 for DC swimout and is closer to the restaurants. Building 1 is closer to the DC beach and swimming pool, loads of entertainment and it's own bar. Building 3 isn't DC. I think if we ever go back again we would still go for Building 1 as it is the closest to the DC beach and bar, although the beach view is a bit hit and miss you are on it in seconds from your room. We hope this helps and have a great time.

@@72FLB Hi again, the walk isn't that far to be fair, block 5 is near the middle of the resort so close to restaurants and the main pool also very close to the main stage of an evening, block 1 is lively during the day and on the DC beach quieter of an evening. Again we would go for block 1 as its the real DC feeling but you need to make the call, hopefully you can have a quick look round before they offer you a room, remember you're a DC customer so just ask the concierge for a quick walk round before making your mind up.

Hi Lisa, yes we booked Diamond club through TUI (UK agency), please remember if you book Diamond you need to be in Building 1 or 5 for the true Diamond experience. Hope you have a great time. Alternatively there is a Building on the Hideaway (adults only) side of the Royalton estate that is also Diamond club.

Hi and thanks for the question, The resort is pretty flat and we did see people with wheel chairs and walking frames whilst we were there. I'm not sure if the resort supplied this equipment or the individuals brought their own. You could always check in with the resort itself or ask your travel company to clarify this, we hope you have a fantastic stay.

Hi Angelica, you can eat anywhere on the resort apart from the specific Hideaway restaurant unless you are in the adults only section of the hotel. If your not DC you are limited to the main eating areas in the centre of the resort. Hope this helps.
