Listen, i have an egg slicer. And i can't live without it. I'll explain: so i'm hungarian and we have a dish that's called layered potatoes, which is made of yes, sliced potatoes but also sliced eggs and sliced sausages layered on top of each other. Having an egg slicer makes it SO MUCH fater and easier to make this dish, you don't know.

We had an apple spiral thing too growing up! It was one of the only ways you could get me to eat an apple and actually enjoy it. I prefer keeping the peels on apples when I eat them and having them super thinly sliced like the spiral corer thing, its like apple chips with raw apple that's a lot healthier than freeze dried. I keep a snow ice shaving machine in my kitchen and use it at least once a day even in winter and up to four times a day in the summer. I LOVE eating snow, but naturally falling snow isn't safe so now I can have safe snow on demand!

1: favorite apples are Honeycrisp and Gala 2: I have an egg slicer and it makes making egg salad nice and fast. I also have this avocado gadget where one end scoops out the avocado in slices, and the other end has a masher for making guac. The most specific use thing I have is a pitcher specifically for making cold brew coffee. It's like a big French press

The most specific tool I have in my kitchen is a peach pitter. We have canned peaches the last two summers and decided that we would not do another batch of peaches without it (we have a peach tree in our yard). I also own an apple/peeler/corer/slicer and it does come in handy working up large batches of apples for canning, if they are not too soft or very large.

Ha ha, we don’t have the whole “My Brand” ads in Australia, so when you said “look at it with your special eyes”....well....first of all, I lost a mouthful of tea from laughing so hard. Second, I reeeeeally needed to find that reference, and I did 🙂. So now I’m all caught up, and I feel like one of the cool kids... you could even say that I specialise 🤪🐿

Favorite apple... Pink Lady! Superfluous kitchen gadget... a granite mortar and pestle my Husband bought me about 8 years ago that I've used ONCE for it's intended purpose. Otherwise, it holds extra cooking utensils! LOL I love the colors of this soap, and Shelly did a FANTASTIC job on those embeds!

I had a small apple orchard in the backyard of my house growing up. I remember seeing lots of deer passing through and TONS of fruit flies/other bugs. My brother also got a hornet stuck in his shirt while climbing an apple tree. That was intense.

I own both a cherry pitter and the apple peeler-corer-slicer! In Wisconsin there are many orchards, both apple and cherry. One of the most beautiful pies is made by prepping your apples with the aforementioned slicer, cutting the sliced apple in half, and layering the spiced & sliced half circles around the pie plate until it's filled. It's gorgeous!

My grandparents had a 1 acre apple orchard. We'd go pick the apples in the fall and my mom would usually make apple sauce and apple crisp (one of my favorites to this day.) Their orchard had gravenstein apples. They're an heirloom apple that are a nice combination of tart and sweet. Not as tart as a granny smith, maybe more similar to a fuji, but more tart. They're great for cooking.

"does anyone else's mom have the apple peeler/corer/slicer?" Well, I have one and it's great! My go to is the slap chopper. I can use a knife, but there's something very satisfying about whacking the heck out of a bunch of green olives to make egg salad. #2-gala apples are great.

Heck yeah my mom had one of those apple machines. It spiralized the apples too so we would bring like apple slinkies to school and our classmates were obsessed. We also have strawberry hullers and I 100% recommend because it saves so much of the fruit compared to cutting off the tops.

I have a very well used apple peeler, corer, slicer! When it’s time to harvest the apple trees it gets used for hours. We do apple pies and freeze them for later. We do dehydrated apple slices w cinnamon or allspice. We can apple sauce and make apple wine. So, that little gadget gets a good workout during apple season. 🥰
