My dad passed away in June of 2017 from dementia, and up until then this was his favourite song. He loved the movie 'Ghost' to no end. When my mom gave him a card for Valentines Day that played Unchained Melody he would play it over and over. It was his favorite thing. It was the one thing about him that didn't change, even after he forgot who we were. I wish I would have found this sooner, so that he could have listened to this beautiful version.

The following was a post I made a couple of years ago. Last night we celebrated our 55th and yes right there in the middle of the dinning room floor we danced to "OUR SONG". Thank you so much!! On November the 17th of this year my beautiful bride and I celebrated our 53rd wedding anniversary. We were married while I was in helicopter flight school and soon to be on my way for my first of two tours in Vietnam. We had danced to this song several times during our short engagement and I guess you could say if we had an “our song” this was it. Besides the two tours in Vietnam there were several other deployments during the 26 years I served in the Army. I finally retired after serving a short tour in Saudi Arabia at the end of Desert Storm. It takes a special lady to be a military wife and my lovely bride is one of the best and has stood by me through both the best and worst of times. Every time we hear this song I ask her to dance. So if you are ever in a shopping mall, a restaurant or just walking down the street and hear this song playing and happen to see an older couple dancing, odds are pretty good it’s me and my lovely bride. So yes, I guess you could say this is “Our Song”!

A favorite of mine since my teenage years, when I had the original vinyl record of Bobby Hatfield and Bell Medley singing it!
