This is some of the best rapping I have ever heard. Best I’ve heard since the black thought freestyle on flex , only a handful of rappers ever get to these heights of lyrical skill and brilliance. This was breathtaking. Royce is easily the most underrated rapper of all time, and seems to only get better with age. This was made to look so effortless, though the level of skill involved is ridiculous. It’s easy to come up with metaphors and punchlines in rap, what’s not easy to do is to seamlessly have those things intertwined with valuable life lessons, all with the perfect delivery and flow. Grown man rap. This is literally goat tier artistry and penmanship. I bet Royce got a few phone calls after this freestyle from fellow emcees letting him know how good that was. Poetry in motion from my man 5’9. Love from the UK ♥️

@reuniteireland4 жыл бұрын
who is Brenda?
@titan96634 жыл бұрын
@@reuniteireland It was a reference to 2 Pacs "Brendas got a baby" (A classic). Brenda had a baby and abandons it. Royce is essentially saying even the best could not give(make) you a classic. Its a jab at ghostwriters and industry plants essentially. Neither the writers or puppets will come close to the GOATS and GODS. A lot of the bars are off of his new album The Allegory. "The effort has to go into the craft not the wave, if the music do not age well it's like you own 100% of nothing." True MCs master a message inside of rhythm and cadences. Rap is essentially stylistic spoken poetry, its used to uplift and teach others. It puts people into an altered state while the MASTER OF CEREMONIES aka the shaman, or magician of sound and time explains something. The ceremony is enlightening those who listen through the craft and art of music. Music and art fall under free speech, the best MCs are lyricist. This is because anyone dedicated or intellectually inclined will pay attention and possibly look up the lyrics. That's why metaphors and word play are so important. Not only does a MC use WAY MORE WORDS, They also provide a narrative and meaning to their art for anyone studying. So someone can listen to a song OVER AND OVER again because it has LAYERS AND LAYERS. Hit "songs" have no depth and meaning and require no study to... appreciate them. They're very straight forward, guns, women, sex hoes. Gangsta rap was a ploy to essentially label anything urban as ghetto and derogatory. It was orchestrated to promote black on black violence and to degrade the culture of true hip hop. I recommend you checkout EMINEM, King Los, Ab Soul, and Black Thought. All these artist are true MCs. Rakim if you want the God.
