So I messed up some of my editing settings causing the video quality to be significantly worse than usual. Apologies in advance.

I am unsure if you have a video on this topic but I’m having a hard time with the quick action toggles for certain moves. The ones where you press the button multiple times I get and it shows +DMG but I don’t know if I’m doing the timed ones correctly. When should I press the button. Even when I feel like i get it timed right I see resist or weak when I hit enemies. Does that mean my timing is off? Thank you so much for any tips. I got better at blocking

The way characters’ movement around the battle area affects Area Of Effect actions sounds like a more advanced version of Skies of Arcadia (specifically a version that allows the players to actually use it strategically instead of just getting bonus splash damage every now and then, which is a good thing in my book).
@RozalinGaming4 жыл бұрын
In practice it does play out in a similar fashion. The key difference being that because the battles actually take place in the game world and not in an enclosed arena it's possible to start a battle in one area and end up somewhere else due to knocking enemies back combined with the movement.

Most don't, but bosses can get pretty elaborate.

On Normal, very quick. But much longer on Ex-Hard (enemies, bosses got atleast 10 times more HPs)

How do I set my turn order? I'd like to set buffs and debuffs before attacking, but even though I switch characters around a lot, Nanba/Saeko for example still end up last to do something. Its very annoying.

Turn order isn't something you set; it's determined by character stats.

Why fix what isn’t broken. I’ve played 5-6 hours and the turn base combat is already putting me off. It’s not good.
@RozalinGaming2 жыл бұрын
It's unfortunate you feel that way. I personally love the turn-based combat and think it was an excellent choice for the series; it also has proved to be a very popular one since Yakuza will be maintaining this turn-based combat for the foreseeable future.

@@RozalinGaming I know, and I’m surprised they’re keeping TB combat. It works for games like Persona. But personally I always liked kicking ass in Yakuza games, fighting plays a big part, looking through menus isn’t the same.
@RozalinGaming2 жыл бұрын
@@KirkRedgate It's not really that surprising to be honest. Yakuza 7 is the most well received game in the franchise thus far and the new combat system is one of the primary reasons for that praise. It also works well for Ichiban, his mindset, and how his group is structured; where beat-em-up worked well for Kiryu, turn-based works well for Ichiban.

@@sainishwanth1477 actually it is far from being just my opinion. Look it up on Yakuza groups, on Reddit etc. A looot of people believe they fucked up. People don't wait for their turn to fight like it is a chess game. The worst is this sad attempt to give it some legitimacy with the whole Dragon Quest thing and with Mitsu saying at the beginning of the game that Kasuga is masochist cause he always lets his opponent get at least one hit on him. If the story wasn't so great, I would stop Yakuza.
@sainishwanth14773 жыл бұрын
@@ryan-7358 there's many who'd disagree too, just look at steam, the game has overwhelmingly positive reviews with less than 2-3% being negative. Many of them are happy with the change, 6+ games with brawler can get boring. I'm happy that they are gonna continue with this change. I said " Just your opinion" because apparently it looks like you cannot accept the fact that there's people who like turn based combat.

@@jaroslavmihok740 I think you should give it another chance. I honestly thought the same way you did, to me Yakuza was a beat-'em-up, and going to turn based was admittedly really strange. But the game as a whole definitely grows on you, the characters are great and the story (atleast up until where I'm at, haven't beaten it yet) is really gripping. There's even an in universe reason why it's turn based this time around. Definitely give it another go, buddy. Thanks for the great combat intro! I'm just starting to play and can't figure out how the ps4 square button works in combat. Do I have to sync my button mashes with square icon animation, or do I just mash as fast as I can. Do I need to stop when the animation stops to get extra damage? Any enlightenment on this and the triable timing button would be most welcomed.
