Jeeezzz..... I thought the original was virtuoso as it was. This guy plays it at 200% speed, showing multiple positions for each arpeggio. Also, that hybrid picking... like it’s nothing at all. This both made and ruined my day. I’m gonna go back to practicing now. Cheers!

I dare ya to try…jk…seriously you can do it: just start slowly and use the dotted rhythms ie dot-sixteenth, dot-1/16th… AND 1/16th-Dotted, 1/16th-dotted,…
@bradleybeebee
@bradleybeebee Жыл бұрын
Dude I am already getting there! My hybrid and economy picking were already decent so it already feels really natural. As for the dotted note technique, I love it!! Helps so much knowing which note needs plucked with the middle finger and also, remembering the sequence. Im gonna do a cover of Eugene's trick bag an ill definitely be shouting u out!!

21:40 That slide down lick right before the triads part that you turned into a swybrid lick sounds way better your way!! I had to slow it down to 25% to see your exact pattern and mechanics, i got it down good now, and goddamn it is fun to play!! I can relax and play the entire ending of the song at leisure with out jumping up and down the neck!! Im not near your speed, but It's opening a bunch of doors!! Plus trying 1000 different fingerings for the intro arpeggios, experimenting with swybrid. Thank you so much Marshall! Also cant wait to check out the math part of your page. What a fucking kick ass discovery!

Gotta say man, your technique is next level I to your playing. Like the level of talent this guy has. There's a tiny amount of imperfection. And a metric christ load of fluidity. He's able to just bounce from phrase to phrase. Bro is fluent. Lmfak This level of playing man. I wish.

I play it with alternate picking at the original speed and it's hard enough. Seeing it played a whole 50% faster with such little effort makes you realise how damn efficient swybrid is. I've seriously gotta start practising it. To be honest I've barely even economy picked, but I do feel very natural with hybrid picking and I'm ok at sweeping but nothing ground breaking just the basics. Would you recommend getting comfortable with economy picking first or should I just get straight into swyrbid? Thanks!
@Swybryd-Nation
@Swybryd-Nation 8 ай бұрын
Learn the basics of economy picking first. Get used to the feel. Good swybryd picking requires competent sweep or economy picking (and hybrid picking)

@Richie Summers I might be misunderstanding your comment. To clarify, you're sending the money to Padraig...the guy who transcribed the Michael Brecker solo for guitar. You aren't sending the money to Marshall, you're sending it to the guy who did the work. Marshall is just recommending it. He even says, "he meticulously edited that and it's some good stuff. I'm gonna buy a copy too."
@Swybryd-Nation
@Swybryd-Nation 5 жыл бұрын
Kpadraigo@gmail cot dom. = Pádraig’s email. See the resemblance? Pad does great transcriptions and I thought my fans would enjoy learning some jazz right from just about the greatest ever (Michael Brecker). Pad is also an expert on my technical approach ie economy>> SWYBRYD>> pseudo economy >> legato. He used many of these and explicitly notated how. Never hurts to have lots of examples of a technique if you’re just learning how to use it. Pad’s work is useful especially if you’re learning SWYBRYD. Buy it now by paypalling him $27 now!

Over the years I've grown tired of using a pick, so now I manly use my fingers. I like your Allan Holdsworth styled legato videos or your hyper picking where I can use my fingers my more. These days I don't even like the way a pick sounds striking the strings.

Marshall Harrison - Guitarist it goes without saying that you are clearly exempt from this notion.... i just personally find les paul (with a slim taper neck) having the shorter scale length is actually the easiest of my guitars to execute arpeggios and such being that i have well... little girl hands. the hump at the neck joint doesnt make life any easier but is no where near as big of a deal as people make it out to be. while playing seated, i dont really find it to be an issue at all for me personally....

oh and one more thing... the TONE of a quality les paul just cant seem to get it from any of my ibanez or other super strats ive tried...not to say they dont sound good they absolutely do just something about those gibsons at high volume through a marshall half stack...cant get it anywhere else!
