Great RP and Ramee is right though IRL if you make a mistake like that on a warrant it will probably nullified. IRL Example, there was a person who was accused of a by conspiring with another individual who murdered people. The cops wrote up a warrant with the serial number for his work phone but with his home phone type (ex. Samsung galaxy 21) when they executed the warrant the suspect gave the work phone because that was the serial number on the warrant but they wanted the other phone too because it was the correct make and model. The cops ended up taking both phones and while requesting a warrant for the info on the phones the suspects lawyer brought up the original warrant showing the wrong info and everything. Due to that the case was dropped and all evidence was nullified.

A warrant defines the scope of the search. In the example you gave, the police only had the right to seize the phone listed in the warrant, which was technically neither phone. In Ramee’s case, the police were looking for a gun that didn’t exist. No M70 existed with that serial number. However, he complied with the order without seeing the warrant, and so it could be construed that his compliance was not dictated by the order of the court. If the police had confiscated anything, that evidence would likely be nullified, but he’s going to have a hard time claiming it was an illegal search. Edit: It should be noted that the police used a detonating cord to breach his warehouse. That should be enough to prove that the search was involuntary.

In RP that number is part of the "serial number" with the additional letters and numbers signifying the gun type etc. However, technically yes it is the state ID of the person who made it. The original intention of the mechanic is that cops can figure out the owner of a legally purchased gun based on the serial number that comes with it. For pretty much all illegal guns though, especially the ones CG gets from Vinny (whose state ID is 1045) its implied in RP that the serial numbers don't come back to anybody, and can't be used to track the creator down. The only real reason they still exist on those guns is to allow the bullet casing mechanic to function, because its based on the serial number.

It's very simple. -We found casings for gun #A1 | M70 -We found casings for gun #B2 | Draco -We're looking for the gun #A1 | Draco They are looking for a gun that wasn't on the scene. Doesn't matter whether roses are roses, you are looking for an M70 that has a serial number that matches casings for a Draco in the scene, but no casings were found for that M70. This gun you're looking for wasn't on the scene. (it also doesn't exist, but that doesn't need to be proven)

An M70 with that serial number does not exist, so the search warrant was executed under false pretenses. Fortunately for the police, no evidence was collected to be discarded, so the only thing Ramee can sue for is damages. He has to allege that this procedural error either violated his rights, that it was personally motivated, or that it left him with some psychological trauma after his warehouse was illegally searched. None of these things are going to be easy to prove, but it’s possible if articulated effectively.

Wording is literally everything in any legal document. They basically went to judge and said the need to find a Gun and in reality they already had the gun they stated in the warrant. The fact that the two guns are completely different calibers and types means you cant just say "Its the same gun". From my understanding the drako in game uses submachine gun ammo and the M70 uses rifle ammo. Technicalities like that matter. Ramee is right in this situation, now what he could sue for is another question entirely since they didnt find anything or take anything. But itll be an interesting court case and i hope that one old guy lawyer that defended summit takes this case.

What Ramee is saying is true. ”We are looking for an M70” and they identified it is an ”unfound weapon”. And this ”unfound weapon” is listed as the probable cause to raid the CG Warehouse. But in reality, the ”unfound weapon” is already in the PD's posession. If Alan Crane is the judge and sees this document, he would rule that the search warrant for the raid was unlawful, and might rule that CG be compensated. Ofc, he would also allow the PD to follow up in the case if they choose to do so, but what is the point of that, when they already ”saw” that there was nothing there.

It was more than likely an honest mistake by the judge. The judges don't get much time to review it before having to make a decision, and it isn't their job to proofread the PDs work. The true blame lies with the PD. If CG can clearly show incompetency with regard to the warrant, they can receive a settlement for the illegal raid and throw out any evidence gained during the execution of the warrant, not necessarily evidence gain outside of it.

What Ramee is trying to argue is that a search warrant was issued under false pretenses. This is correct, but it’s not really the only factor in whatever lawsuit he plans to bring to court. The search warrant was also presented after the search had already taken place, which could be a violation of Ramee’s rights, but Ramee was already compliant because he had not demanded to see it first. Legally speaking, the search may be construed as voluntary, and therefore the warrant is irrelevant, but considering Ramee was involuntarily detained, his compliance could be characterized as under duress. (The police also breached his warehouse using detonating cord. He did not give them access.) This is an interesting case. Good lawyers would be fun to watch, but smart lawyers would settle this out of court.

If you thought Bob was being stubborn about saying he was searching for a second M70, it’s because he realized that the validity of his search depended on him articulating that the identification of the casings did not necessarily preclude it from being an M70. The warrant only authorized a search for an M70, and nobody will be able to prove they knew it wasn’t an M70 even if the Draco is actually discovered. This is why Bob was so smug when he told Ramee to bring the Draco to court so he could prove what kind of gun it was. In doing so, he basically surrenders the object of the search, and he loses anyway.

The guns that were listed were listed as possible matches to the bullet casings, they have curtis M70 in evidence, and they are looking for the M70 ser. 822. At first I thought the 822 m70 was what they have in evidence, and what they were looking for as probable cause. But they list the 822 M70 as linked to the bullet casings they found. And that is a weapon they were searching for.. I think the PD is right on this one.. I was fully believing they got it wrong.. but now I dont think they did.. They dont have the M70 822 in evidence they have the one from Curtis in evidence.

Getting the 9's mean getting 9999 months in Jail. In No Pixel each month in jail is a minute. So getting 60 months would be an hour of jail. 9999months is a week.

It means you are held in jail until trial, which typically takes 1 or 2 weeks. It also can mean an investigative hold, like in the case of Andi Jones and Bjorn in the Basem murder case. The reason why the 9's exist is to give some real tension when doing a weed run( or caught with large quantity of drugs), when somebody perma's after being killed. Sadly the cops don't give much RP to the people in for the 9's, which kinds of goes against the purpose of the 9's as well. It is not supposed to be only a punishment but also an opportunity for some good RP with cop interrogations and investigation. That hardly happens though.

Well the cops were there at the warehouse when it was getting cleared out by garrett etc, it was there fault for losing them in the chase

He knew cause he could see it via his cop character but he purposely left it out of RP up until that second cause he thought that bob gave him a copy of the warrant when they were in the car ride outta prison

First of bob gave him the warrant on the way to the warehouse so there is nothing weird also befor raiding someone pd has to give them a copy of the warrant. Secondly the PD is just bad at executing these Raids. prepare the warrant befor they catch the crim so the whole thing doesnt take 3h which the crims can use to clear stashes etc. And last but not least have some units watch the house of intrest so they cannot just go in and clear it. So its their own fault that raids are useless
