HU7 is pretty amazing as a product and campaign setting, but I think it would be exceedingly difficult to run unless you have a really experienced and committed group. It has the complexity of a James Clavell or George R.R. Martin novel.

Does the -2 on ALL die rolls also apply to the xd6 rolls for checks such as Dex checks? If so, that makes the fact Dex is capped at 10 a non-issue (besides missile attacks and initiative).

By logical extension from the intent here and from other rules, it must act as an addition to the roll. It's harsh!

I see volumes 1, 3, & 5 on Lulu. What happened to 2 & 4?

Not out yet - those are Layers 2 and 4, which haven't been finished, nor have 6-9.
