If I can swing it, my plan is to transition my group game to Savage Worlds after they finish Abomination Vaults. Opens so many possibilities.

It really is. If you want to have a light weight version of mythic for an occasional quicker Oracle, the One Page Mythic emulator is very good as well!

Just recently started using SWADE for solo. It seems like a good balance of light, fast, but edges and hindrances make it a bit more complex. I also have companions including deadlands, fantasy, sprawlrunners, and codex infernus and horror

I think that part is a bit of a matter of taste. In my experience, the edges and hindrances provide good fodder for guiding Oracle results. That is one of the aspects of SWADE that helped my sessions.

How do you award yourself bennies playing solo?

Interesting question! It depends on the oracle I use. One of the ways is when I get a “yes, and” result. Another is, if I do something that seemed Bennie worthy, I ask the oracle, is that worthy of a Bennie with a 50/50 chance. Feels as if you are positioning a feat as Bennie worthy to a real GM then.

How do you give yourself bennys as a solo player? It seems not really fair. I’d never know how to give myself a Benny.

Easiest way I have found is to ask the oracle… “hey Oracle, I just did X heroic thing, it seems Very Likely I earned a Bennie, is that right?” In Mythic that opens an additional chance to create a twist on doubles too! Also, you get one when you get a Joker on the action card.

@@booksbricksandboards783 Yeah the joker is how I would probably get all my Bennys. One question, about Mythic. I’m not the biggest mythic fan, does “solo game masters guide” have the same function of mythic. As in, a way to run all games by yourself?

@@coryburns4309 Solo GMG had a couple of very simple methods to handle GM decisions, but wouldn’t call it a replacement for the Mythic system. Solo GMG was a good source of advice, but the toolkit was a bit of a letdown for me at least.

I do like Game Master’s Apprentice cards (I have two of the decks). If I want to run something without having to spend much brainpower on the emulator, so I can focus on the game, I will run with the GMA or One Page Mythic. If I want the most robust storytelling kit, and to be surprised at every turn, I think Mythic 2e is the gold standard.

It is called the Savage Worlds Solo Game Guide, available on DriveThruRPG for around $4. I also used the simple AI system presented in Crater Lake Chronicles while playing through that. Good gaming and God bless!

So I noticed that you had each success on the "to hit" roll count as a wound, and you didn't roll to damage (and then try to get past the Toughness and Armor of your target). Is that a solo variant?

Nope, just skipped a step. At the beginning of the video I referenced that toughness is the difficulty for damage rolls. Occasionally when filming an odd rule will be fumbled because I am juggling speaking, playing, and keeping everything in the camera 😉. Thanks for the heads up, proceed as you were, no special solo wounding with hits!
