I remember using those boxes to store minis just like that. xD I've since started using plastic shoeboxes and wrapping each one individually, but for temporary storage/sorting those cardboard boxes always came in handy. I wouldn't suggest treating them like that these days though, as even empty they have value. I remember selling my collection of empty boxes back in the day. They're probably worth even more now.

6:28 "Wizards of the coast isn't quite as good." Huge understatement. I really miss TSR. WotC has done a few cool things but with a license as cool as D&D it would be difficult to fail all the time. In particular their D&D 3rd ed metal Black Dragon boxed set is something you might want to look out for. It's too bad TSR had the misfortune of having a few catastrophic failures all at once. Haven't watched the rest yet but it looks very promising. The Ral Partha Monsters set looks cool, even if it ends up being the plastic version. The Titans of Terror set is also nice. I haven't noticed the boxed game sets I saw earlier like Dragonstrike yet so I hope you grabbed those while you were there because they have more value than you'd expect.
@QuarterFlips2 жыл бұрын
Agree very much on the WOTC/TSR thing. I've never seen that Black Dragon but will keep my eyes open for it. There ended up being a large number of very nice minis in this lot and I've sold about $1500 worth so far, with more to go.

Miniatures aren't my bag, but 1) I would have bought those boxes absolutely (what a haul) and 2) it is awesome to see you geek out on something that your obviously into. I do the same for cd's (with a soft spot for "local" to the PNW acts) and movies, but not for resell only for the coffers. Really dig the videos btw!
@QuarterFlips3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I have always loved those miniatures, since I first saw them when I was a little kid. I found a couple of cool PNW CDs at the Salvation Army store in Shoreline recently, but I wasn't filming. Shook Ones 1st CD, Lazy Susan "Twang," and a version of "Saxhouse" by BTMSQ that isn't on Discogs. Fun finds.

There are some Reaper minis that have good value, like Sophie the Succubus (they've made various limited edition versions of her over the years), the obvious boxed metal sets (they've made huge metal dragons), and Doom stuff is especially rare/valuable.
@QuarterFlips2 жыл бұрын
Very true, and I've sold a Sophie or two over the years as well. I like Reaper stuff I guess, I just don't get as excited about it. Ral Partha and Citadel are what gets my motor running.
@cameronrich21602 жыл бұрын
Would love to see the citadel stuff. That’s where the true value is. I’m collecting an 90’s army and I’m paying around $10-$15 per miniature. I’m close to 2k into 1 army lol.
@QuarterFlips2 жыл бұрын
There was not a huge amount of Citadel in this lot, but there were a few decent pieces. Mostly Lord Of The Rings stuff. I LOVE getting my hands on Citadel stuff, especially late-80s Chaos items. The designs are just untouchable.

Fun for sure. Only thing better would have been playing that Conan the Barbarian - Basil Polderis Record that you didn't pick up while sorting them. :) Lord Soth was a DragonLance Villain.
@QuarterFlips3 жыл бұрын
But I DID pick up that Conan record! It's in my Discogs store right now. Got the Led Zeppelin LPs too. $1 each. I just wanted to focus on the miniatures when I got back. And yeah, there are multiple versions of Soth in that pile.

And the Conan record was actually put out by Peter Pan records... It's the story of Conan for kids!
