Using brakes on a car/vechile is a very different thing to operating complex weapons systems and figuring out how manually operate it safely. Do you use RPGs everyday of your life a car since your teenage years? Didnt you know what brakes were when you like 7 years old? So the f did you compare that with this?

Me and a few buddies had the opportunity to shoot RPGs with our buddies from the Czech Republic, who provided them. Their launchers were quite well kept, and the rounds looked pretty good. The RPGs themselves flew incredibly straight for awhile before they started dropping, and none of the ones fired that day did any crazy stuff. I think them cleaning debris out of the launcher between every shot helped a lot with that. Experiences will differ, I guess. Cambodia, go figure.

Evolutionz Lmn There are a bunch of different types of rounds for them, but the most common are HEAT (High explosive anti tank) rounds, which is basically designed to create a jet of molten hot metal that pierces the armor and fragments inside a vehicle, wounding or killing whoever is behind it. Damage is all relative -- it might not look like much on that car, but I promise you don't want to be behind one as it goes off -- trust me, one almost got me!

Sorry guys, but I graduated from Call of Duty online ARMY degree, and Im an expert ont he RPG (also know as the Really Precise Grenade). These is a nerfed version of the weapon, something youd see in Hollywood films. In real life, 50 meters (aka 1968.5 inches for you over seas) you will experience pos traumatic stress disorder and be feeling negative effects. This weapon originated from Ukraine hence the scientifically-ugly design. After 4 years on the field I can say only NATO forces and SPETSNAZ Crew Special Ops Marine Brigade use this equipment, not the Taliban Insurgents like you might of seen in American Sniper. Again, do your research folks. Real life is no joke. Reload speed may vary on your equipment.

HE standing for high explosive, meaning it will explode while HEAT, as was said in the video, stands for high explosive anti tank, a HEAT round doesn't really explode, it’s more designed to burn holes in tank armor.

Yeah, also puts a hole in the armor, might detonate rounds inside the tank. It's more of a directed explosion, all of the force directed into the target.

HEAT still explodes. The shaped liner doesn't keep the blast wave from propagating radially, it just focuses the blast from the inverted conical portion of the charge into the liner, turning it into a penetrator that is driven into the armor by the pressure of the blast (the temperature doesn't get high enough to melt the armor). Keep in mind HEAT is still a High Explosive charge, hence its designation.

well it matters what type of rocket you are using, that type is made to penetrate the tanks armor and fragment to seriously wound or kill the people inside. Some can make a big boom especially if they hit ammo storage then it is a bigger boom.

Storm Trooper #286931 shaped charges do not fragment. shaped charge in rpg is lined with copper, which turned into jet of molten copper plasma, which penetrates armor (and gathers more molten metal in the process). the molten metal plasma is what kills personnel inside.

When explaining the difference between the RPG-2/B40 rocket and the RPG-7 rocket there was inarticulate babble about venturis (rocket nozzles) without explaining why this was important. Basically, the RPG-7 rocket is 2-stage. The lighter end piece is an initial booster that fires and gets the rocket out of the launcher. It is spent before the rocket leaves the tube (BAOL or "Burn All On Launch") so that the operator doesn't get hot exhaust in the face. At a safe distance the second stage ignites and shoots out those venturis (little rocket nozzles) boosting it towards the target. This results in a kind of unusual flight profile where the rocket initially goes straight out, then the second booster propels it in a faster, higher arc. Most likely this is why they kept getting high shots. They did not have the optical sight mounted, and this sight compensates much better for this arc leading to better accuracy.

Sorry to be a downer, but the "E" in HEAT doesn't stand for Explosive, it stands for Energy. This round is designed to penetrate tank armor, it uses a shaped charge and the physics of cavitation, not crap-tons of explosive force.

High Explosive would imply that the damage done to the tank would be inflicted by the concussive force of the explosive, when in fact the melted copper and super-heated air are what kill the crew. Most tanks taken out by RPG are still quite operable, they just don't have any living crew capable of doing so left inside. Something like a bunker-buster shell is more along the lines of HI-EX.

Gurman Thandi The E does stand for Explosive, I was mistaken as to the acronym, but the point I made is still valid. Also, both HEAT and Sabot rounds are what are classified as Kinetic Energy(KE) Penetrators. The difference being that the Sabot gets the KE from the initial launch, while the HEAT uses a shaped charge at point of impact, making it both lighter and more versatile.

Luvcello21 High Explosive is just a common name for all explosive materials which explode at very high speeds like TNT, C-4, PETN. Opposite to Low Explosives like gunpowder, nitrocellulose or ANFO. I do remember seeing a video of a guy in the middle east running with an RPG and tripping. The RPG end stabs the ground and it blows him up. It could have been fake as the RPG doesn't usually arm until it has been fired. Check Dr. Google and i'm sure you'll find your answer.

Agreed, the one good hit they got with the RPG7 just behind the front wheel did not explode, there was no jet formed by a shaped charge as is claimed in the video, the hole on the other side was caused by the projectile exiting the car.
